You shouldn't be paying over 50 quid for your 5lb of protein powder

I dunno if this will work, but there are threads about what protein to use every few weeks, and there's already a supplements thread, so I thought this might address a particular problem that crops up.

YOU (yes you) should not pay over €50 for a 5lb/2.5kg tub of protein. In this day and age, with all the resources at your fingertips, you do not need to keep ripping yourself off by paying over the odds. Now even 50 is too high, considering what has been shown to be available, but as an absolute limit on what anyone should pay, that has to be it.

And it doesn't matter if one product has two grams of protein per scoop than another, or 3% more isolate, or even if its 100% isolate, the difference for anyone here (and even people as advanced as Hanley will vouch for this) is minisule: there's just no point if you end up paying too much for it. Considering the amount of protein most people who are posting here and lifting weights will go through in a year, you should keep your costs absolutely as low as possible. Price is foremost; content second (cause as I've outlined, unless you are lifting at a higher level than Hanley, its not worth it) and flavour third. Always! And brand means fu.ck all. Absolutely fu.ck all people!

Here are some examples of cheap supps. If you think they are too dear, or know somewhere better, good! Post a link.

    http://www.universalnutrition.ie/viewproduct/18 - €43

    http://www.thesupplementfactory.com/Protein/c2/index.html?osCsid=5c02478a47a3017c5315b073f9e9e8a2 - €30!

    http://bulkpowders.co.uk/ - about €30 too.

And I'm sure if you take a look at those links you'll see even 50 quid is a massive rip off. Hope this might help someone, and keep off topic banter on brands and prices to a minimum. Thanks for reading.

    Good idea Brian.

People overthink their supplements way too much. Get the cheapest one that checks out content wise.

Add some cocoa and dextrose if you're making a recovery shake....tastes just dandy. Handy for other stuff too (adding to porridge, cereal, cooking, etc.).

have you taken it as a shake without adding anything??
