    Hi,

Need advice for best workout for weightloss (Have half stone to lose) - I have 1 hour to spare 4 times a wk. The programme I was given in my gym could be done by my Granny ..honestly! Any help appreciated. I like any machine in the gym except the bikes- too boring!

168 hours in the week, and you have 4 to spare?

    Good luck with that.....

    Great isn't it?

The best advice to give you, is to read the stickies and make use of the search function, as your question has been asked and answered a million times before. Other than that, why not provide some actual, useful information so people can advise you, like your age, height, weight, diet, current fitness program.

We both know that you have a lot more than 1 hour to spare, 4 days a week, maybe a change in attitude will help towards your weightloss?

in fairness four hours a week will get good results if you work your ass off for those hours and have a good diet, four hours in the gym is four hours more than a lot of people put in

4 hours exercise a week is a reasonable commitment to fitness. I think the average sedentary punter would see huge change with 4 hour exercise a week. Anyway....

edit: corkcomp got in there before me. :)

OP: A half stone isn't a huge amount so you should examine your diet a bit as well as upping your exercise. Do have a read of the stickies. They're jammed full of useful information. As for in the gym....well....stuff that you like will mean that you're more likely to do it. What had you in mind?

    I never said otherwise.

Said it before and sure I might as well say it again...complete with a tantalising spoiler......

The best exercise for fat loss is
the one you will stick with

Keep your diet clean and exercise hard - and regularly. 4 hours a week is actually a nice amount - but keep it intense.

believe me its a lot easier to loose weight when you have a lot to loose .. if your only slightly overweight and clinging to that last half stone its then that some tweaking / though is required :D

Best advice for weight loss is running cant be the age long tradition ( well in the last hundred years anyway) so hit the streets or if you dont want to brave the elements hit the the treadmill.
Half a stone will be gone in couple of weeks i frequent runner and i can lose stone in couple of weeks so i would recommend it to anyone

No, you can't, at least not a stone in fat.

    Half a stone is nothing --> ~ 3.5kg.

Increase your activity levels and eat sensibility. Heaps of advice on here already on both training and eating.

4 or 5 days of cardio e.g. 2 runs, 2 bike sessions and you'll be down to target weight by beginning of March i.e. in 3 months.

About 2 years ago I went from 76kg to 70kg in a few months (cannot remember exactly how long) by getting to the gym and sorting out my diet. That was without following any particular program.. just being active.
