Was on Spin FM on saturday at 1.30pm and covered the above.

I said i would post a summary of the discussion on this site (along with plugging boards and irish-lifting.com)

Students - get fit NOT fat

    1. Eating healthy on a student budget - eat more fruit and veg and stop snacking on junk, allocate cheat times, base meals around protein, prepare more

    2. Avoiding gettin fat in college - get more fit friends to push you into training, join a club that keeps you training regularly, earn your carbs, join the college gym and hit the weights

    3. Exercise and diet makes you smarter - you sleep better, have increased energy, improved concentration, take fish oils, makes you more attractive to the opposite sex

    4. Keep active after college - so many drop off the waggon, join your local gym, set training targets - marathon, triathalon etc

    5. The top 5 fat shredding tips your not doing -

    A) Do intervals - your NOT still doing 30mins at the same pace on the bike or going for a 40mins walk and wondering why your not seeing results are you???

    B) Get more sleep - increases recovery so you can train better

    C) Hit the right weights in the gym - stop the mickey mouse training and work the exercises that are going to give you the most results

    D) Drink green tea - increases metabolism

    E) Do what fit and fantastic shape people do- we are consistent, have made lots of mistakes, prepared to be sore from workouts, sweat lots, eat healthy and absolutely love the feeling and look training brings

Hope this helps all you students and if i had the resources this forum has when i was in college i would not have wasted so many years with ineffective programs and training
