    Hi all,

I am coming back from a pelvis/hip injury that had me out of action for basically the last 6 months. This was the first time in my sporting life I was out of action for more than 2 weeks. I missed the majority of my Gaa season and to go with that my team winning the championship :( I had to watch on from the sidelines!

For the first few weeks going out to watch my team play I was chomping at the bit to get back out there. But I became more frustrated week after week just watching, especially as I was seeing no improvement with regards my injury. My normal routine of training/playing was thrown out the window, I couldn't even play golf with the injury so I found myself bored to death and constantly thinking about being injured which just dragged me back down.

I have recently joined a Pilates class and starting doing 5 mile walks just to get myself going again, as I was told that it would be best not to go back training with my team just I should wait another 2 weeks before doing any serious contact training or even running. However the Pilates classes I have started doing have really helped with my recovery and I am going to keep doing them.

So here's the problem, I have really just lost all interest in going back training and playing. I have lost my appetite for it all, I used to training 5 days a week now I just couldn’t be bothered even thinking of going back. My team is still in with a chance of promotion, so their training is still going at full tilt and if I was to go back training with them I would be way out of my depth giving my 6 month lay off. My physio has told me that in 2 weeks I should be capable of going back training, slowly building it back up of course.

So I am glad to have gotten that off my chest and was looking for some advice from some of you guys. Have any of you ever felt like this after a bad injury? How did you manage to re-focus and get back into the whole thing? I am considering not going back this season at all (season will be over in about 3 weeks) and just giving myself time to reflect and prepare for next year.

Any advice would be great and thanks for listening
