Shrink a full dvd to smaller size?

    Hi guys,
    I have a number of legal bootlegs - metallica ones which are free and legal. They are all full dvd files - ie. they have an Audio_ts and Video_ts folder. They are about 2.5gb - 4.5 gb each - I would like to have them a lot smaller and in one complete file, so that I can then make them into flvs and upload them to my site eventually.

    Anyone have any idea of any free or paid software that can do this at all?
