  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,239 ✭✭✭✭WindSock

I think mods can do a silent edit if they want.

Only smods can. A mod can,if we edit a post and click don't show sig,but its only for each post, and only works in our own forums

From my experience if you are quick like a ninja admin it doesn't show who edited it.

Someone had wanna get on to an Smod. Is there a light that we can beam into the sky to get their attention ? Or should we scream at the top of our voices from a tall building in distress? :pac:

It's ok to censor but not edit... ?!
With all due respect: What are you banging on about? Link and explain. Make it rhyme too.

They usually check random feedback threads about completely different issues to see if someone has complained about a signature.

Whatever you do, don't post in the Sigpo thread or PM the Smods. You'll never get their attention that way. ;)

I think I'd agree with the buffoon's sentiment if not phrasing. If you need to stop someone from posting then ban/delete, but in principle I agree that changing what someone says is a bad thing.

I've never seen this on boards though so I don't know what the christ he's going on about.

I'd agree that editing someone's post isn't a good idea for a mod, but back it up with links/evidence or I'll close this thread.

And you never will be with that kind of defeatist attitude.

Positive thinking and anything is possible. We believe in you.

Ahh but that was my point in the question you see :pac:

It's hard to get away with it unless you have the reflexes of a cat.

Not sure if this is related but I wrote a visitor message on a friends page. When I went to the profile recently my message is still up, although the name of the poster has changed (from me to someone else). Should I report it. That's pretty low if you ask me.

Well, as there is no real explaination as to what this thread is about, I'm closing it.

I am also of the opinion that Mods should try not to edit comments, rather they should soft delete them so they can be accessed in the future if needed.
