Hi Guys. I have been offered a rowing machine for free and i'm just wondering if they're any good for fitness or toning muscle.

Jaysus if it's free take it! I always thought it would be a good all rounder but when I used it in the gym I found it's more of an aerobic work out....but someone else would probably know more.

normally if somethings free i'll take it but this thing is a bit big for the place i have so i don't want to take it just for the sake of it

Some of them fold. Can you check?

If it has resistance adjustment its worth having. I have one, and I hate it, cos its hard work.:p

If it's anything like a concept 2, take it. :)

it's kind of like that. about the same lenght but can't be folded up. It has different training types such as normal racing or a pyramid system where we have the strokes per minute which increase and then decrease towards the end. I'll have another look at it this weekend and see then.

If it's free you're grand how bad can it be for that price? But if you're paying, get a Concept 2 and don't bother with anything less. circa €1500 new, but you might get lucky and pick up a reconditioned one for €400/€500
