It used to be Jimmy Keavney and Mikey Sheehey, I think. 2-6 & 1-9 possibly ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 326 ✭✭jimbo32123

Correct answer, actually both scored 2-6, closely follwed by peter canavan i do believe with 0-10 in 95.

you go now to ask them

This has been tried before. In order for it to work you have to be patient, so if you give an answer can you wait for confirmation that it is correct before posting another question. Otherwise there are overlaps and it gets confusing.

not a problem, your knowledge is appreciated Mr. Cruiserweight!! we await mr. megagdodge's question now!!

    Can I play?

    Tony Browne?

Who is the only player to have won an All-Ireland medal in all the following inter-county football grades - Minor, U-21, Junior, Senior and also a Club All-Ireland ?

    P.S. I believe Canavan scored 0-11 in 1995.

to the first question, did matt connor not break Keavneys/Sheehys record? i maybe wrong there tho....

anyway, this question, is it Tony Davis ( a clubmate of mine has the 3 main ones and gave one year at junior to equal davis he said)? i know he is the only person to win Junior, Minor, u-21 and senior, and i assume he has a club too. o donavan rossa perhaps around 93? not sure to, so i maybe wrong. i do know for sure, that mike frank russell has Minor (94), U21 (95 and 96), Club (94), 5 senior. only question is, was he on that junior kerry team that won the all ireland in the mid 90's, 94 i think, prob not,. so, ill go with davis, but russell has a shed load of other honours, along with Seamus moynihan,2 of the most "honoured" players in history. (they both have POTY, all stars, sigerson, all ireland colleges as well as loads of kerry club honours)

    Mike Frank Russell?

I believe he also won a Siergason and Schoolboys. As far as I know all he is missing is a Railway cup medal.

    what about Dara O Cinneide??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 326 ✭✭jimbo32123

dara is missing a minor, sorry!! Tony Davis looks to be correct!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,430 ✭✭✭megadodge

Yup, Tony Davis is the correct answer.

    Over to you HomerJay.

P.S. Matt Connor scored 2-9 in the 1980 semi v Kerry, but never came near the record in the finals of 1981 & 1982.

daras minor career was one game if memory serves me correct. 93 tink it was, cork got 2 injury time goals in tralee to defeat kerry. i remember it as i was only bout 12, my brother was involved in the panel that year. it was some sickner. cork won the all ireland that year i think.

    i have to think about a question.....hmmmm...

what do seamus moynihan and paul flynn have in common? actually, scrap that, its a bit vague, feel free to answer though...

hmmm, it has to be a kerry question so!!!!

let me think for a minure again.-

name the last championship game that kerry lost, that meant they didnt play in croke park that year.
i want the venue, the score and what else was the game "famous" for that day?

That actually makes no sense. The last last championship we lost was the all Ireland final. If the question is "Name championship game that Kerry lost, which was the last time they did not reach croke park I think you are referring to 1999. We lost to Cork 2-4 to 2-10.

Can't think what else that game was famous for- maybe it was when Paidi called the supporters bloody animals but I thought that was later.

If the question is "Name a championship game that Kerry lost, which resulted in the replay being played outside Croke park, then that's a question. Demanding the score and some vague thing that the game was famous for is quite ridiculous imo.

It makes sense to me setanta, i just dont know the answer ;), what he means is that they lost a game before getting to Croke park at all (most likely pre back-door)

Was it the year Clare won the munster final? If so im sure some of our Clare posters could supply all the details :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 326 ✭✭jimbo32123

i'm going to punt at 1999 munster final, cork 2-10 Kerry 2-4. maybe the only game Maurice Fitz didn't score while wearing the county colors??

yep, spot on on all 3 answers! well done.

    over to you!

** it was his first time not scoring, but ya, i tink he scored in pretty much every game after that, even as a sub, even against meath!!!! i remember the lad held him scoreless, mark something, was cleaned the following year in killarney after 5 minutes, by crowley...he was amazing that day.

the moynohan and paul flynn one is a bit vague, hence why i left it as only an option really. hint - both were involved in something that they will want to forget.

eh, its very simple, we have been in croker every year since 2000, so, 99, pre back door, is the last game we lost outside of croker which cost us not playing there..... before that, it was killarney in 95 v cork, 15 points to 1-7.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,798 ✭✭✭Mr. Incognito

I was at that game, Maurice Fitz was booed off. Disgrace.

    I'll have a crack.

Every year Kerry have won the all Ireland they have had at least one Tralee forward on the team, except for one year.

    What year.

Google won't be helping you with this one.

I'll go for 1891, when they won the hurling chamionship for the only time.

Jimbo, I think it actually was Charlie Redmond ?

On another note although Manus Boyle is always credited with 0-9 in that match I always remember Tony Boyle getting one point which I think was then credited to Manus. I could be very wrong on this one and I've tried googling it to see does Tony get credited with his definite 0-1, but to no avail. Anybody else help me on this one ?

    Lol no.

It applies to Football only. Also, there were a number of Tralee forwards on that 1891 team as back in the day the Kerry team had to take the train to Dublin so a lot of the players were taking form this train catchment area as it was much easier for them to travel.

We had a forward crisis in the 1990s in Tralee (hence the one All-Ireland in 1997)
However Pa Laide was on that team.

I reckon therefore it was 2000

    Correct.

For 2002/05 we had Quill. For 06/07 there was Kieran Donaghy.

You sure our Tony didn't win it that year, we won 8 methinks?

If not, a travesty of justice!

PS. I've a notion Vinnie won it, but I'd like proof! Unless Manus and Declan got the corner forwards?
