as long as they're shooting each other ...

Gangland shootings ...the applause on boards ...hey, they're killing each other off, I'm all for it ...the lack of public outrage about these murders ...the silent tolerance ...they're killing each other, problem solved.

So, now that we seem to have our first innocent victim (the case of mistaken identity in Limerick) ...what now?

He's not the first innocent victim. What about Donna Cleary and Anthony Campbell? I'm sure there will be plenty more innocent victims......

Are you talking about Limerick/Moy Ross or gangland killings in general?

I was listining to Paul "I'd kill 'em all if I wasn't a journo" Williams of the Sunday World fame expounding about the gang that killed this poor fella - apart from liking the sound of his own voice I think he's becoming as deranged as some of the scummers he writes about.

    And Edward Ward.

For those who haven't heard of these three people Cleary was shot in March 2006 as she was in the wrong place at the wrong time attending a party that gunnmen fired shots into. Campbell was murdered in Finglas in 2006 as he had previously witnessed a gangland shooting. Ward was murdered in Walkinstown in Oct 2007 as he also witnessed a gangland shooting.

    http://www.herald.ie/national-news/city-news/my-forgotten-son-by-shot-victims-mum-1503812.html

So unfortunately this is nothing new in Ireland, and as the previous 3 murders haven't changed things I doubt this one will either.

You also should have bitched how foreign/irish men/women are better/worse than everyone else, slagged off some taxi drivers etc etc and it would have been lost in the mix of AH normality.

Just a still town girl on a saturday night, lookin' for the fight of her life
In the real-time world no one sees her at all, they all say she's crazy

Locking rhythms to the beat of her heart, changing woman into life
She has danced into the danger zone, when a dancer becomes a dance

It can cut you like a knife, if the gift becomes the fire
On a wire between will and what will be

She's a maniac, maniac on the floor
And she's dancing like she's never danced before
She's a maniac, maniac on the floor
And she's dancing like she's never danced before

On the ice-build iron sanity is a place most never see
It's a hard warm place of mystery, touch it, but can't hold it
You work all your life for that moment in time, it could come or pass you by
It's a push of the world, but there's always a chance
If the hunger stays the night

There's a cold connective heat, struggling, stretching for defeat
Never stopping with her head against the wind

    She's a maniac, maniac, I sure know
And she's dancing like she's never danced before
    She's a maniac, maniac, I sure know
And she's dancing like she's never danced before

The entire City of Limerick should go to that funeral.

Chances are they will. It was the same when a mate of mine was shot. The funeral was absolutely huge as people just identified with the fact that it was just someone caught up in the rubbish that can persist down there.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,866 ✭✭✭Adam

"Outrage of all Outrages"... Absolutely f*cking appalling case.

should the entire world go to the funeral of the next child that dies of starva....wait, too late, it's gone...oh! there's another one... -_-

Absolutely. Why some people on this forum think it's okay to trivialise and poke fun at such a violent and tragic murder, is beyond my comprehension ...

The argument, "it's AH, what do you expect" is utter bullshít. Grow up, grow a brain, and show some respect. How would you feel if it was one of your family??

    A. Whinger.

i still wouldn't give a **** what a bunch of people on the internet had to say about it. chill.

I'm well up for letting them kill each other, but unfortunately there's always going to be more, reletives of a killed family member wanting revenge, friends wanting the same etc... It doesn't exactly stop whn one family is killed off or quits, it just get's passed on to another.

So the only solution is to bomb limerick and kill everyone.

If it was my family? I wouldn't log onto the internet for a start to see what a bunch of people I don't know have to say, in a time that I would be grieving.
It seems that people have thier backs up over this because I referenced Limerick to have a high rate of stabbing incidents, which it does.
Yet, go through all the threads in AH and you find someone, somewhere finds something insulting. The ****e thing is, is that you [ye] choose get all self righteous about only one post, but completely ignore the multitude of far more insuting things posted here by the minute.
I won't kowtow to you and your high horse you rode in on. Hypocrites.

thanks. its where the 'its AH, what did you expect' attitude comes from i think. we dont come on here to talk about personal problems, it's generally silly banter. but post here long enough and that becomes the mindset in this place regardless of the topic at hand.

    obviously there are exceptions.

it's nothing to do with immaturity. it happened, he's dead. i'm not going to lose any sleep over. but i still wouldn't walk up to a family member and begin a recital of this thread, i'm not heartless. or immature. thousands die every day, in worse circumstances than this. but it's in ireland, so it's a massive fecking travesty.

Well of course you wouldn't, I never suggested otherwise. Dude, you made a stupid joke about someone who was shot dead at the weekend.

My point was: put yourself in the shoes of a member of his family for a moment; how would you feel about it?
