Mickk, who is a boards member, is one of the ogranisers of the event (they are using his hummer for the deadlift! :D). I think the event was actually moved to Saturday and i think a brief look with one of the strongmen doing the lifts will be on the late late show tomorrow.

That would really suit me better if it was on sat so if mickk or anybody else can confirm what day and time it starts would be great.

    Hey lads,
yea sorry I was holding off on announcing the show here because it was planned for Friday but the Late Late Show contacted me early this week and said they might be interested in doing something on the show. After talking alot they have decided that once I could have equipment with them from 3 on Friday they would do a live feature on it!
We have had to bump the show itself to Saturday to accommodate them.

We had a photoshoot today for all the papers with Jason Reilly who is an absolute beast of a man!! He walked up to the 3.5 tonne Hummer with no warm up, no belt, no straps and just picked it up! (with the way the deadlift platform and leverage works its ~300kg plus). Then 5 mins later did it again with two models on the back trye and stood there with it for honestly 3-4 mins while all the photographers messed about instructing the models!

Very very impressive bloke, himself and another beast Paul Roberts will be on the Late Late tomorrow.

This might actually make me go to Toys 4 Big Boys. Is there any way of just going to the Strongman without having to go into the rest?

If you want to give me a shout when you are outside I could bring a blindfold and walk you straight out to the comp :D

I would say pm the previous poster Mickk. He runs a gym & owns www.irish-lifting.com which has strong man type stuff too. If anybody knows he should, but he is not often on here, so pm or go to his site and email him. Some others might know too though, can't remember the username but he did log lifting and had atlas stones I think.

I know viadas and team animal do strongman training in the carpark of total fitness blanchardstown but I don't know how long that will last as total fitness is planning on moving the weights area to another bit of the gym and if its like what happened in malahide I dont think the lads will be training there long. Ross tweedy has a decent setup in wexford and thats where "farmer" on here trains. Sams gym in Ballymoney has everything aswell.

I know a few people around who are buying their own equipment to start training themselves, I was surprised at the amount of farmers walks, super walks and strongman logs I was selling and getting requests to get atlas stones and tryes!
I give the tyres away for free as I can get them in a recycling plant and I know davey on boards has just bought a yoke, log and farmers walk so that would be one to watch, he is only ~68kg and has a 280 or 290kg deadlift!!!

Thats why I decided to run the competition, its popular it just never really gets any attention. I am probably going to run two comps a year in dublin, there was alot of problems this year with the venue and t4bb organisers as they didn't really know what it entailed but next year it will all be done properly. The event was still brilliant but it was in the outdoor stables and alot of people there didn't know it was there, I was at t4bb last year for hours and I didn't realise that stables was there. I talked to a good few people that day who heard the announcements on the pa and were waiting at my stand in the indoor events hall for the competition to start...

I will stick up some pictures during the week and hopefully some videos...
