Advice on fat loss diet

    Howdi all,

Just looking for some basic advice on diet for fat loss

Firstly i weight 90kg, am 6 foot 2, and according to my weighing scales from argos am approx 18.7% bodyfat. Im 25 years old.

I am fairly athleticly ( only way i can describe how i look) built and the only place i really retain fat is around my stomach, mainly due to years of alcohol and white bread abuse! to get a picture of me you wouldnt think i had a belly at all unless i had my top off.

So now i am trying to lower the bodyfat and the belly in return.

As such this is my current diet.

Breakfast 7.30am: Home made smoothie with cranberry juice, full banana, full kiwi, half an avocado, 5 or 6 strawberries, 1/5 scoop of strawberry flavoured ON whey, and a small danone activia

Snack: 10.30pm: styrophone cup 4/5ths full of porridge with low fat milk

Lunch: Two fillets of chicken with brown rice, and a meduim sized microwave baked potato with nothing else on it.

    Snack: 4pm: Avonmore soup, small

Gym 6.30pm 1 hr pretty intense cardio mixed between crosstrainer and treadmill, to the point i have to peal my t shirt off me and it looks like somebody threw a bucket of water over me

Dinner 8pm: Fish ( smoked cod, salmon, whiting, haddock, mackerel, or trout) and mixed veg ( carrots, broccoli, cabbage, turnips,)

    9.30: possible snack: Danone activia.

    In bed by about 11pm!

I am not necessarily looking for anybody to completely disect my diet as i think its pretty good but maybe any obvious advice, on any mods that would be suited to burning fat, would be appreciated!

I know this isn't answering your question, but if you are eating fish every day, you could be damaging your health due to things like mercury and PCB's which are found in most fish.

I think you're only supposed to eat fish about 3 times per week.

Well i did my back doing deadlifts a while back so am off the weights while i recover, which isnt going too well!

However as soon as a can i have a good fat burning program that Will Heffernan did for me, its a 6 day a week weight program. I used it previously and found it to be very good

Maybe so! But in the west it is recommended you only eat fish 2 or 3 times per week because of the toxins. It's up to you if you want to follow that advice. :)

Why do you choose the fish every day diet anyway? It is based on the Chinese diet? Some lean meat would be just as effective. Skinless breast of chicken is low fat and high protein...

I think that is one of the healthiest diets I have heard of in a long time. As a personal trainer I discuss diets with every client before desigin a fitness plan for that suits them and I wish more people ate like you.
While I would agree with some of the others comments that fish 7 days a week may be slightly excessive, it is a healthier option that fatty red meats. Although I do believe that everything in moderation works well.
I'm not sure I understand your query? You sound very healthy and fit so are you trying just to tone rather than lose weight around your stomach region?

Why is fatty red meat bad?

    Thanks,

No that Chinese example was just a smart arsed comment! I eat chicken for lunch every day as it is so thats why i dont want to eat it for dinner too. I sometimes eat corned or roast beef, or ham, and probly have fish 4 or 5 times a week

Well i want to really reduce my bodyfat as i have a slight belly, it appears to be more bloat than flab and its the only part of my body where i really collect bodyfat. I am looking to get down to the < 10% mark
