    Welcome to democracy.

Although it is a Fox forum. I'm sure the intelligent thoughtful responses get posted on other forums. Fox will just publish stuff that suits them so you take it with a huge grain of salt.

Wow there's some incredible stuff written there! Pretty sad to see I have to say. I know people have strong feelings about it all but some of that stuff is ridiculous. The biggest curse if the Internet has reared it's head again: Anonymity.

The liberals will remember this day of infamy. A traitor has been elected by scum.

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:19 am
I’m proud of those that voted for McCain. 48% of Americans cannot be bought or deceived.

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:19 am
blacks voted for obama because of his color.
and the whites who voted for obama… are just stupid.
and he’s not even black! his mum is white.

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:19 am
Save us the speech Mr. O. This election was bought and paid for complements in part of illegal campaign donations. Which I’m sure we’ll have to hear about for the next couple of years while it’s being investigated. I don’t feel proud to be an American. We elected a person for foolish reasons.

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:18 am
Hey, let’s all move to Mexico, Canada, or or how about Great Britain! Yeah! Lets all leave!

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:18 am
Actually, Sarah Palin was qualified for the position of VP and later on, President. As governor of Alaska, she is responsible for the largest military group protecting our country, on our land: the Alaska National Guard. She is more versed and knowledge of homeland threats than most other governors are.

Those who think that Biden is better qualified? Look at his stumbling through the campaign…..
People have just sent our once great nation to hell in a hand basket…. soon the Muslim community will be able to rise up and call a halt to our freedoms… we’ve just elected for our leader, a person who thinks that white people need to be eradicated.

Read up on his background, folks. Prepare for a fight.

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:18 am
    Come on….Mexico…any takers?????

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:18 am
I believe that John McCain lost because he is a man with impeccable character and in todays society being honerable and nobleness means nothing. The masses are being led around like sheep and Osama won the election with the assistance of 90 percent of the USA media.

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:18 am
    LOL
One thing I forgot, and all you liberals forgot, too.
DING DONG, the wicked witch is dead!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, I bet Billy C. is getting his A$$ kicked tonight.

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:18 am
I am ashamed at my country. How can they elect someone to be president? They are going to regret it. I bet majority of people who votes was because mostly it was a black and white issue not because what they believe in. So, America voted for a president who says that ” My daughter will never make that kind of mistake on getting pregnant so she can have an abortion.” Seriously, calling babies is a mistake what kind president did you guys elected? Geez, good luck now I will have to change my career just so I can keep my health coverage.

Thank You to all the Dummies who voted for an president who will do nothing but destroy our world.

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:17 am
So when does the American genocide begin?

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:17 am
Osama will destory US from within… GAME OVER!

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:17 am
Tomorrow is “Wear black” day to mourn the death of our country and democracy. God Bless that which was America.

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:17 am
Yes i agree that the stage has been set for the return of Christ. He does somewhat fit the bill for the antichrist. As to the comment left by Marcus, I am not a crazy Christian wackjob, but a Christian who has been redeemed and the real TRUTH has set me free indeed. And as far as being Lost I am found, how about you, if you were to die tonight would be able to stand in front of God and tell him why you should be let into heaven, I would. I will pray that God will open your heart and eyes, because we are all sinners lost, until we receive Jesus, not crazy wackjobs, but yes the Anti Christ might have just stepped onto the stage tonight. I will[ pray for the US and that God will not remove His hand from us yet, unless it is His will.

    God Bless the USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:17 am
    IM MOVING TO MEXICO!!!

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:17 am
Because there are a lot of freaking stupid people in our great country.

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:16 am
IN A VERY SHORT TIME…. you’re all going to wish you had George W back ! ! ! or even Jimmy Carter…

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:16 am
Because it is perfectly clear. In desperation, the majority of American people have lost their minds.

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:16 am
    He’s tall, he’s young, he’s skinny, and he’s tan. America’s idol!!!

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:15 am
For the first time in my life I am ashamed to be an American.

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:15 am
It’s time to move to Australia!

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:21 am
Bush did not wreck our country. He did a wonderful job. How easy is it to place the blame on one man instead of looking in the mirror and seeing the truth - that this country is in trouble due to the greed of the man in the mirror. Keep in mind the fact that while Bush was President, Congress was heavily populated with Democrats!!! Duh!!!!!!!!!!!!

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:20 am
He won because the media, networks and ignorant people hid who he really is and what he truly believes in. He’s not even an American. There is absolutely no proof, or is that another lie. The election is a total scam and thank God I only have a few years to live. I’m moving to Canada. At least people are respectful there.

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:20 am
He won because he is N*****!

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:20 am
What a terrible day for America. Obama is going to turn this country into Legoland. Socialism is going to eat our children. Our economy is in a downturn just because he is running for President, not because of the last 8 years. HAIL JESUS CHRIST ALMIGHTY!!!! OBAMA IS FILTH. FILTH OF THE BLACKEST KIND. I am going to go jump off a bridge and end my miserable life. Rapists and homosexuals are about to walk the streets, and I do not wish to stick around when that happens.

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:19 am
You are not WORTHY enough to join me in praising the GLORIOUS Megatron!
Do your praising elsewhere, we must spread the WORD of MEGATRON

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:18 am
Obama won because he portrayed himself as a magician of change…kind of like Hitler did. He fooled a lot of people. Your life will not be better, people! He does not have a magic wand and he is not a deity.
Change is only brought about a an entire country of people working, not an entire group of people thinking one man can change the world….for the better?
I do trust that our congress, democratic and Republican won’t let him do too much damage!
Sadly those he will disappoint the most will be those who voted for him. The rest of us will be prepared!

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:18 am
VOTER FRAUD PLUS PEOPLE ARE STUPID. WILL THEY BE BLAMING BUSH WHEN WE HAVE ANOTHER 9/11 ATTACK BECAUSE WE NOW HAVE THE LOVER OF ALL ANTI AMERICAN COUNTRIES IN OFFICE? WILL EVERYONE SAY HOW GREAT obama IS WHEN HE RAISES EVERYONES TAXES AND NOT JUST THE RICH? OR WHEN WE HAVE THE obama SS SQUAD RUNNING AROUND AND YOU GET ARRESTED FOR NOT SAYING GOOD THINGS ABOUT HIM. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY WHOLE LIFE AND “MY ADULT LIFE” I’M NOT PROUD OF AMERICA. WE HAVE SHOWN OTHER COUNTRIES HOW COMPLETELY STUPID MOST OF AMERICA IS.

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:18 am
That’s great, a Partial Abortion Baby murder.. and a Gay supporter for President. What’s this world coming to?

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:18 am
Osama won because he is a MASTER at the art of “deflection”. He NEVER answered anything with a straight answer! And how many people did he through under the bus? “Oh, they weren’t like that when *I* knew them!”

And you stupid people actually BELIEVED him????????
Well, I will continue to cling to my guns and my God, because HE is the only way OUT of this mess that Osama will put us into!

WAKE UP, America! Before his Civilian Police Force take away ALL of our rights!!

Again if the mods have any problems with this post feel free to delete it.

Not really depressing at all. Some people cannot see why their candidate lost, beyond finding any excuse that will justify it. In the uniqueness of this election the race card is a pretty obvious one. Almost 50% did not vote for Obama and over 20 states did not choose him as President elect. But he will be their President as well.

It is depressing, it is pathetic some of the slanderous nonsense there.
Almost 50% = less the half
20 states = less than half

correct me if I'm wrong but that seems like for once the system in america has ticket every box,
    Popular Vote,
    Most electorals,
    most states,
most representitives (almost a "super" majority)

    etc. etc.

people saying that Obama wants to eradicate all white people and to prepare to fight, red neck hicks.

I think you've missed my point. He still has to be President to them as well. And in as much as you've exercised a right to pick me up on my comments they are also fully entitled to say what they think, however disturbing that may appear to others. On that basis I don't find it either depressing or surprising but I'd say there's a challenge there for President elect Obama.
An election is not a football match. It affects the next four years of all Americans' lives and by the look of that some of them don't welcome it.

Some serious venting on there. In fairness a lot of it you could change Obama for Bush and change the date to 4 years ago.

Thought this one was funny though.
While your post was both excellent, well-timed, and well-written, I would urge the other users of this site to keep posting their whiney, anti-christ laden rhetoric so that I can make a mohito out of sweet republican tears.

If you live in a country where a leader(leadership) is elected by the population as a whole, I don't find it acceptable to start ranting off all this bigotted drivel.

People are entitled to their opinions about Obama. Just because he is HALF African American doesnt mean we have to all be accepting and pleased with his election. It amazes me how much **** was written about George Bush... I no fan of his but using him as an example.... yet if someone dares say anything negative about Obama the race card is held up....

In an ideal world I'd agree but we can't force people to do the "right thing" just because what they say is obviously unpleasant. They have their reasons for that thinking, illogical and inappropriate as they may seem.

I think Reagan swept the US - i.e. 100% of the electoral college ( and 60% of the vote).

That certainly didnt mean that he was universally approved. There were areas of New York where he probably got 0%.

The problem for the US is very severe. People in Oaklahoma vote 67% for McCain - despite a clearly disasterous Republican presidency - in California it was 67% Obama.

that is two countries, talking past each other.

    Exactly,

You would have even had all sorts of crazy stuff on this board had McCain won.

Why are people so upset about what is posted on a Internet board, most of the people here wanted an Obama win and got their wish but are still pre-occupied and upset by what some whack jobs are posting on a Internet board.

If you had any tiny bit of humility, humanity, sense, or patriotism, you would heed the calls for unity made by both McCain and Obama (which have been one of the most important and noble aspects of the election outcome IMO). In the event there is any further polarisation of the ideological factions in American society, it will be the fault of bitter, backward, narrow minded people who have been indoctrinated with bigotry and fear. Thankfully, these people are outnumbered and outgunned. It is crucial for the USA and the world that these wounds are healed. I feel sorry for you.

Eerie parallels with Kennedy though - considerably young (for a U.S. president), a "first" from a persecuted group (Kennedy was the first catholic president), the turnout yesterday was apparently the highest since 1960 (the election Kennedy won)...

I'm not gonna read them but I've picked up a couple on this thread - very sad that a man is considered a "pig" and has death wished upon him because he's not a staunch neo-con/white/evangelical christian.

Then again, to be fair, it might just be his abortion stance that's causing a lot of those comments, rather than his ethnicity.

Ooh I love this. And all the other whinging bitter comments by the ugly, and happily defeated, side of America and their cringing, forelock tugging, greed-is-good wannabe admirers on this side of the pond.

Reminds me of a quote from a particularly corny film, Conan the Barbarian.

    "What is best in life?"
Conan: "To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women."

Yeah Baby!! Keep the grumbles coming!!

BTW Conan was played by Arnold Schwarzenegger. Isn't he the REPUBLICAN governor of California?

Scary stuff, Obama is not just hated by some of these people he is despised and loathed.
Sadly a some of it appears to be very racially orientated.
Look at the states that voted for McCain, it is kinda reminiscent of the Confederate Map.
America does look divided with the far right moving further right thanks in part to people like Palin.

Every country (including our own) has their nutjobs, their fundamentalists, their narrow minded inbreds, but the scary thing is that in America they are often very well armed

If this Party does not take a more Moderate direction and view of America immediately they are toast and will lose even more seats in the next election. This right wing extremism that I have seen from southern and midwest states is scary - and yet it continues after the brutal losses of the past two elections. GIVE UP THE CHRISTIAN/RELIGIOUS MORALITY AGENDA, FAMILY VALUES DIRECTION AND GET BACK TO BASICS. Let the religious institutions lead in that area. It was always about business and thats the direction the Party should take - less government - less taxes - helping business and people be successful - let us compete in all global areas. The Republican Party no doubt will be strong in the south and midwest - unfortunately -it is not enough and will continue to lose elections. The whole east coast and west coast is on its way to Democratic dominance. I was once called a Conservative but after the Republicans began to interfere with their rhetoric and laws on how I should live my life and spend my money - that was too much to take. I am embarassed to be a Republican. WAKE UP.

This is a reminder that Republicans are not a single homogenous ideological bloc. Lets hope that level-headedness like this will prevail in the power struggle that the GOP is probably going to find itself caught up in. With any luck the neocons and radical bible thumpers will get squeezed out.
