Taking Creatine while on a Ketogenic Diet?

Heylow, I'm starting a very LC eating plan tomorrow. Hoping to lose a bit of fat after a few months of trying to gain weight.

Just wondering if anyone knows if it's a good plan to take creatine on it? I've had all this planned for a few weeks. But whenever I read about creatine it's always in conjunction with carbs. Though I have lost a lot of fat while LC with creatine before, so I'm interested in peoples views?

i reckon what you are seeing about the carbs is in relation to the fact that creatine is often taken with high gi carbs to cause an insulin spike to ensure as much of the creatine as possible is driven into the cells...im pretty sure ive seen ppl on LC diets use alot of creatine to help maintain strength levels and help them train....i believe there is alot of creatine supplementation advised in the Velocity diet over on T nation for instance

Yes, you can use creatine on a keto diet. Try taking it in your Post workout shake, which is normally a whey and glucose combo. Creatine Monohydrate works best when taken with some carbs, but you don't need much, and there are other forms that don't need carbs.

Also, most athletes on a keto diet do regular carb-ups, so that's a great time to creatine-load.
