I'm an OS X proponent, so it's as hard for me to believe that anything M$ produce is good as it is for you. However, with W7 they seemed to have redeemed themselves after Vista.

A slogan which is both unfunny, and pathetic.

Also has very little to do with engineering, more appropriate for a construction worker, or a mechanic or something.

ye the slogan is a load of bollox. I thought it was good when i first heard it but now i hate it. and to make it worse the medium is tiny and doesnt fit me and our order was ****ed up so there are no spare ones for me. grrr.

and ye i noticed the lack of a colon/comma/anything after "Engineers". now it looks like the word "engineers" is in verb form and the sentence is just missing a subject.

Pretty bad isn't it? I handed mine in today about half-done. And there were a few hours put into it too. Alls I know is the rate is 2.5x10^-4 / dt, dt being whatever time you recorded for that particular solution and the rate constant k = [concentration of S2O8]^alpha X [concentration of I]^beta / rate
alpha = order of reaction with respect to S208
beta = order of reaction with respect to I
I think I got alpha = 1 and beta = 1 but that's probably wrong. It "explains" that in the chemistry book anyways. All my rate constants were x10^-3, I think the avg. (there's a bit where they ask for the avg. of three) was 4.12x10^-3 . My E act was about 40 kJ M^-1 I think. All I can say about that exp. is that it makes you look forward to a chemistry-free second year. Also, the management accept no liability for incorrect equations I may or may not have remembered correctly.

Cool, I got bascically the exact same answers. woo. I didn't answer all the questions at the end tho. Dindn't know what they were on about. I can't stand chemistry.

My bed and I have developed a kind of bond during this exam period. I would ask you to keep my bed out of this, sir.

    Ouch that sounds painful. :P
Did anyone ever get the feeling in first year that first year engineers in trinity are kinda... homeless? Saw a sign in the SNIAM a while back on the door of a computer room that said something like "Physics Students Only!!!" and I felt sorta out of place in the whole building then.

    Which one is that?
I say we aggressively expand into the JCR or something and put up all kinds of divisive and exclusionistic signs. And a pirate flag. It's not like there's not enough of us to do it.

O RLY?!? Then why isn't it called the SCR? Anyways, I meant 1st year and 2nd year(from what I've seen/heard) engineers don't seem to have a place with computers and exclusionary signs. I don't think the JCR counts, but then again I've never been upstairs there or anything. I found this in another thread.
Genetics for example have their own undergraduate computer room and a open altrium /eating area.

future years have their own places... Electronics have a computer lab, Mechanics have one, and Civil have one in the red brick and some in the DO...
Science is in the same boat as us.. If they specialise into Genetics, or Neuroscience or something they get a home... Its pobably something to do with numbers..
Anyway.. enough of talking sense... we so should have somewhere to go..
Main problem with the JCR is theres no WiFi.. Still doesnt stop me spending most breaks in there tho :P

Maybe it's an incentive to get to JS or something... So do you know of any computers we can use with excel 2002? The hamilton ones have 2007, and they're always packed anyways.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,488 ✭✭✭mathew

pretty sure everwhere has been upgraded to 2007... which is crap...
Try one of he east end rooms.. if you go down the stairs to where the mac labs are for 1e3 and turn right.
There are a few rooms down there that are usually less full than the ones near LG12..
theyll probably still have 2007 on them tho..
