Recovery and Nutrition X

Apologies if this question has been answered a million times, I have searched through all threads and found snipets here and there.

I am currently using RAM after each workout (3 times per week) and also using Mass X when I feel that I am not getting enough nutritious food in the day.

I am thinking about using Cell X but my question is regarding that the official nutritionx site recommends Whey Big for recovery. My questions are:

    Is RAM better ?
Can I mix RAM with Cell X ?
Should I take Cell X twice a day (AM and PWO / evening non workout days) ?
If so, should I stop with the Cell X periodically ?
Finally - would there be any risks with using Xplode II pre workout from time to time (I am also thinking of stopping Mass X after this tub)

    thanks

From memory cell x is 20-30grams carbs, creatine, glutamine and a few bits and bobs. Big whey was probably recommended as you need protein after a workout as well.
You could just get a tub of creatine monohydrate and add a teaspoon of that to your ram. That would give you carbs, protein, creatine, glutamine, arganine etc.

So RAM is better than big whey if you are purely talking about post workout supplements.
I suppose you could take RAM and cell x together. Wouldnt be a normal combo but if you do just make sure you have them as seperate shakes.Would be a bit overkill imo.
Take cell x every morning and after every workout. If you are budget conscience then take cell x after every workout and a spoon of creatine mono every morning. Stay on cellX for 2-3 months, and go off it for at least that. The only supplements i take year around are protein and Ram, and at that its only when needed. I could go a month without a single shake, or take a ram and a protein everyday. Depends on diet and training.
As for risks with taking Xplode just use it whenever you need it.If you have health problems or on medication / sesnisitve to caffiene etc you might want to see a physician before taking it. Some people cant sleep if they take it too late.

It really sounds like you're just looking for more ways to throw money down the toilet..... You've openly admitted you're eating/diet isn't good, and you're trying to patch the holes that creates with supplements?

    Receipe for disaster, imo.

I'll be bold and ask you to post up your diet before anyone recommends what supplements (if any!) you should be taking

No problem - Breakfast: Smoothie (1 pt), large bowl cereal / 3 eggs, rashers, toast at weekends.

Lunch: Normally pasta, tuna, broccoli and juice

Main meal: Normally chicken, potatoes and 2 or 3 veg or similar meal.

PWO : Sandwich, normally tuna and cheese

Maybe about 3 other snack during the day

Mass X never replaces a meal, but may replace snacks.

    Weigh 12 stone at 6' (33 yoa)

Also walk / run 3 miles each day - the reason I i'm going off Mass X is because I think I am getting too much carb (belly coming on) but enough protein.

To be honest, I think there is nothing wrong with my diet, but my job is very physically demanding, up and down ladders and pulling cables through pipes etc for 8 hours solid, that I am normally wrecked when I get home. I've never used Xplode before but feel that somedays I would lift an extra 5 lb / few more reps with a bit of a boost, also I have been considering the creatine route just to put on a few more lb muscle, but just not convinced that I want to go down the full on creatine mono route just yet. The final RAM question was beacuase, to be honest, I love my RAM - it tastes great and was just hoping I could still amalgamate it into the plan.

I am taking nothing that will help produce muscle at the moment, only recoverey. So, this is where my original questions came from.

you are taking something that 'promotes muscle' the RAM does that taking advantage of the anabolic window post workout to build muscle as welll as help recovery....

I personally found that Xplode was great for a while but soon got used to it also its quiet exspensive for what it is the Nitric oxide and Arginine parts of it is quiet controversial and may have no effect whatsoever while the caffeine defintly is good but there are cheaper ways of getting in caffeine!

Looking at ur diet its pretty good but id add in another meal post workout this is most important time when ur most anabolic....something simple like adding in a litre of milk with what ur already eating would be good!

As regards the Creatine dont over think it!its not some monumentall decision like should i take steroids or something!Alot f people see very little effect from creatine and while it is undoubtley a good supplement it wont work wonders but will definitly help. Its relativly cheap so i say go for it!Take it your from waterford so am I where you train?

Cheers Arsenal - I actually have a few pints of miilk also, at lunch and tea time, but should eat more PWO - normally try and have 4 or 5 handfuls of peanuts in the evening (within 2 hours of workout) aswell.

Yeah, I'm in Waterford city, work out at home - only have bench, exercise ball, barbell and dumbells but thinking of maybe using the Kingfisher after christmas just because I can't do any pull sets at home. Where do you train yourself and how is the set up ?
