why do you say that, i used have a 360 and had gears of war 1, thought it was a great game, sold the 360 after i finished it though and just recently got a ps3

fair enough its your own opinion, but i personally think thats a crazy statement. i cant wait for gears 2 i think it will be classic, (but in saying that i cant wait to buy resistance 2)

Resistance 1 was a good game but too linear. Hope there's more free roaming in R2.

AND I hope it is better than the numerous turkeys that were hyped to the nines only to massively disappoint, e.g. Haze, Far Cry 2 (had to get that one in to annoy the fanboys :P)

GoW was excellent imo. I never played it on the 360 but I've played it numerous times on the PC, both co-op and single player. It looks amazing and I actually really liked the gameplay.

But my point was I don't understand why you are comparing Resistance 2 to GoW2. Ones a TPS and ones an FPS?

Ditto. With Gears 2 I'll be happy if it's just more of the same, I preordered that without thinking twice. Resistance 2 has a lot more to prove to me before I'll splash out on it.

Played this at the Stuff Live event the weekend just gone. Very impressed. It was just the solo campaign I got to play but it was still a vast improvement over the original. It is also way more colourful, no more grey and brown everything.

Multiplayer reviews will decide if I get it.

Holy moly this is out tomor i have gone and bought too many games recently got far cry, dead space, socom, LBP and fallout 3 in the last 2 weeks and now ive to get R2 and gears 2 this week as well.

Am i right in thinking VG+ is my best bet for R2 price wise ?

Back on topic, will definitely be picking up R2 after playing the beta. It has been the first thing I do when I get in every evening since I downloaded it. Can't wait to play on the full set of maps and get stuck into the campaign.

I think technically you can get caught for tax but i never have been, they stick 20 dollars toy on the pack so that it gets through. Id say ive well over 20 games gotten from them and have only had 1 problem and thats far cry 2 which they say was posted on the 23rd of Oct but still hasnt shown up yet but they do say it can take 1-14 days it just normally is here in 5 or 6 days.

Still not worried about it im sure they will refund me and i have ordered 3 copies of res 2 yesterday

Yep since they stick on the 20 dollar toy sticker it wont be stopped by customs unless you are really really unlucky. Ordered about 20 games and accessories and has always been fast without any problems.

Their customer service is really good only had one game not turn up from them but they just rang up the post office and it magically appear the next day.

Any follow up on this? Went on the store about 2 hours ago and didn't see any changes from last week! Is it the Resistance website that you need to register with or what?

Me too. I thought it was for US accounts, but the US beta expired last week. Missed the US one due to my internet acting up.

Resistance 2 beta is redeemable via a code, same as all the other recent betas.

It won't show up in the PlayStation Store.

When you go to the PS store, in the top right hand corner is a button called "redeem voucher" (or similar)
I entered the code I was sent last night and downloaded the beta version.
2211Mb so took a while!
Crashed each time I tried to play about 5 mins into a co-operative game :mad:
even pressing the PS button wouldnt work so had to reset the console each time.
Will try again this evening when I get in but it is defo available for european
users.

Rather surprisingly, Eurogamer's given it a 9, noting that it's very different from the first. I think they gave the original a 6 or something?

Not sure if I'm gonna be able to pick this up day one. But same goes for Gears 2. LBP and Fallout 3 are keeping me really busy at the moment, so I may save R2 and Gears2 for Xmas.

Sorry to go off R2, but just one last quick question about VG+, what kind of packaging do they use? Large boxes or small enough to fit through a letterbox? I know it's a weird question but there's nobody at my house during the day and I go to college so I don't have a porter at workplace that I can get it sent to.

BTW, I'm obviously only asking about when you order a single game, I wouldn't expect three or four games to fit through a letterbox.

They post it in a standard padded envelope it should have no problem fitting through a letter box.

Sounds good, i like a challenge. The reviews say there is some breathtaking scenes.

Have you tried the online coop, that looks like fun or else the online multiplayer?

VG+ shipped mine on Friday and it arrived today! This game is so good, too bad I'm fecking snowed under with projects at the moment. I found time to play through the first three levels and a few rounds of deathmatch online, in which I got my arse handed to me. The maps on deathmatch are small enough to keep the action constantly moving, but as a result of this the respawning is ridiculously broken and I get half my kills from just spawning behind someone, or having someone pop up in front of me. Can't wait to try the team modes but methinks I'm done for today unless I want to drop out of college.

Im playing it on hard and finding it tough if there is a lot of big guys. Still loving it and there is little loading so don't mind continuing when i die.

The coop is probably my favourite part of this game if u can find a good team that is.

Sorry bout the bump guys.

I've just finished this and i have to say, i'm very disappointed. Both this game and its predecessor had some great gameplay, but the first was let down by a lack of cutscenes, and when i started playing R2 it was an instant improvement, story seemed to be movin on nicely, better gameplay than the original. unfortunately that wasn't to last, and the 5-10 second cutscenes are not long enough to be able to build a convincing story. for me the game just didn't live up to what it could have been.

Ok so this game is nearly 2 years old but, i was expecting much better than this and don't even talk to me about what was imo a pretty big let down of an ending.

daedalus being shepard was a joke. if it was anybody it shoulda been cartwright from R:FOM, not some random dude that your supposed to know. After you beat him in a poxy enough boss battle your finally about to be chimerafied after 2 full games of being infected, you get jazzy super powers and everything, and then they don't even let the player see hale transform because peow, he's dead (or is he). WTF, It's as bad as halo for the 'buy the next game to find out what happened' endings.

anyone else even remember what its like to play R2 at this stage?

Brilliant combat, creative weaponry, clever A.I, long and worthwhile single player, fun and huge online battles and lastly, an addictive and entertaining Co-Op mode definitely made me not care about the lack of decent story.
