Chin-up bars and the likes in parks around Dublin?

I remember a while ago that someone (Mairt?) had a thread or two about where to find pull up bars, and the likes in parks around dublin. I'm getting desperate, can anyone find it for me, google and the search function are coming up with nothing!

Or, if I just imagined this thread, anyone know a good few places to go? I don't like using GAA or soccer posts, I don't want any park rangers on my ass!

There used to be some in Bushy Park, they had rings as well, but I've no idea if they're still there

I've used branches. Have a look around 'til you find one that suits. I got lol'd at a few times mind you. :)

It does yeah. Just for clarity, that's Malahide Castle park. They have a circuits course along the path that goes around the outside. Not too shabby either.

the ones in cabinteely are excellent - dips, overhead ladder, push ups and bars tall enough for hanging leg raises

Anywhere online you can see a map of them? Been thinking of taking the fight team on an excursion.

Do you know what the inclined parallel bars are called or meant for at the station near the bridge? At the higher end they taper out, and I think one is longer than the other for some reason, and they are thicker than the others.

I went out to the Malahide ones there on saturday. It was ok. Some of the stuff is obviously aimed at children and midgets.

12 stations at intervals on a track of about a mile and a half, maybe more.

    Horizontal ladder
    Chinning bars (various heights)
    Paralell bars
    Horse for side jumps
Push ups (logs are set up so you can elevate your feet)
    Lunges
    Small climbing wall
    Poles for leap frogging

Can't remember the rest. The only ones I found useful were the chinning bars, paralell and monkey bars. The rest weren't much use. I couldn't do dips on the paralell bars properly, I'm too used to holding on to thinner bars in the gym :o

There was a dad out getting his kids to do all the stations, 4/5 year olds going for the chin ups with some help from daddy. My mate who came with me couldn't do even one :pac:

This sounds great. Anyone know of anywhere in Galway with a similar set up?

Deerpark was already mentioned, it has a horizontal ladder which can be used for chinups, it also has pressup bars and dipping bars in different areas of the park. nice little workout, do a few laps of the park, stopping off at each obstavle to do some reps and then continuing on, then combine that with some sprints and burpees -- does me in anyway...
