Sigs - do you notice them?

Most boards users have them and put a lot of time and effort into putting pics, links etc in the hallowed allocated spot that shows up at the end of each comment they post but does anyone actually care?

Do you ever click into the links in people's sigs to see their bebo, lastfm, flicker or whatever else is there?

Do you even have them turned on? Are they an eye sore that the site could do without?

Who has the best sig pic/quote?

yeah, i tend to notice sigs more than avatars or nicks. once i get to know a user, it's their avatar i notice.. i quite enjoy them. one or two will annoy me, but variety, and life spice and all that...

I click a lot of them, but not bebo/myspace/facebook because I don't like those sites and find a lot of the pages difficult to read. Dark Mauve writing on a jade green background with dancing rainbows?, unattached photos that move eith the page and an animated backgorund.... Yeouch...

I view sigs the same way since a lot of ppl have the same avatars.

Have them turned off. I don't see the point of sigs as I find it easier to form an opinion of a poster by what they post not some ideal or hobby they subscribe to.

I have mine turned off. They are annoying. I am aware I have a very large sig though, but it's unclickable, but you can just click on the bit under my name anyway to go to LL. Avatars are important, imo. I hate ikkypoo2 because I hate his avatar. He might be a nice chap, I don't know. I am shallow :pac:

Ahhh sigs are OK, once they don't get out of control. There are some very funny quotes and images in them. They are easy enough to ignore once you start browsing so I don't really see them as a problem.

I like Sigs. Never been on a message board without them. I don't really click into people's Bebo's but if there's other links I'll often have a look.

Aswell it's easier to recognise people who post by catching a glimpse of their avatar out of the corner of your eye than looking for a name. This helps coz I'll usually pop into a thread if its started by certain people who I know will prob have something worthwhile to say...

I like sigs. I wouldnt ususally click on the stuff unless something catches my eye (or unless its a chick posting and I need to know if she is hot).

I don't associate people with sigs though - I associate people more with avatars.

Same as myself, but really don't care what songs people have just listened to, or those tickers that tell you how long left before they drop their sprog etc. Really annoying images in sigs can be adblocked very easily.

I look at some poster's bebo sometimes if their most recent post is funny or something. And some avatars really suit their users down to the ground.

My sig is more for myself than anything else. When I come back to a thread I can quickly scroll down the page and locate the last post I made by looking out for my sig.

My PC specs is more so that I don't have to keep pasting in my specs when I'm refering to how well my PC runs some game or application.

I like sigs, they can give you an idea what the person is into and allow them to go beyond the username.

If I see a Bohemians or Derry City signature, I'd be inclined to drop the person a message about the league. That's just one example like. No harm in 'em, providing they're not BLOODY MASSIVE and wreck the page.
