How much time do you actually spend sitting down?

It just occurred to me that im sitting down or lying down for a ridiculous amount of time in my daily life.

Im a regular gym goer and am pretty fit and healthy so its not a matter of health that im bringing this up.
Im just wondering if everyone is like this.

My current schedule of daily life.

Morning I get out of bed, get ready and go to work. Usually at work no more than 45 minutes after i get out of bed. I drive to work (15 minutes). So im on my feet for around 30 minutes at this stage.

I work in an office where 90% of the people I will need to speak to are but a chair spin away so i dont walk around that much. So say i clock up another 30 minutes on my feet throughout the day.

I come home and relax. Watch tv, cook dinner etc etc. So i would estimate that i would not spend more than 45 minutes standing up during my whole evening at home and then go to bed.

So at the moment we up to 1 hour 45 minutes on my feet.

I spend about 3 hours in the gym a week so that averages about 25 minutes per day.

So in fairness i would regularly spend no more than 2 hours 10 minutes on my feet in any given 24 hour period.

Obviously the above does not take into account events like going out for the night etc.

Does this seem very bad to everyone else or is it just a by product of modern life.

I cycle to and from work and I'm on my feet all day bar about 25 minutes of my lunch 'hour' where I get to sit down. Then I go running about 45 minutes after getting home. Want to swap? :o

Well if you find it ridiculous then do something about it.For example when you come home from work go out for a walk. It's not hard. lol

Stand up for yourself man! :D

I was thinking about this recently. On non gym days I would get about 30 mins of activity - 15 mins max walking each way to and from the tube.
