Hi Im living in France at the moment and I need to get the morning after pill. I have my European Health Insurance Card but I cant find any info about it on websites.
Will I be able to see the doctor here for completly free here? What is the story, does anybody know?
Do they even give the morning after pill here because everywhere closes on a Sunday and it reminds me of Ireland 15 years ago!!...:o

Think it's pretty much only Ireland you need to go beg your GP for the MAP...

Wikipedia says in France the Morning After Pill is called NorLevo, and I found this article online:

"Norlevo has been available in French pharmacies since last June. It can be obtained without medical prescription, but is not refunded by the Social Security. One treatment costs between £5.5 and £6.5."

Here's another one: "On June 1st, 1999, HRA Pharma's NorLevo was granted over the counter status in France. This is the first dedicated emergency contraceptive product to receive such status in a major market."

Um, you can get it over the counter pretty much everywhere in the civilised world. I come from Donegal and if I still lived there I could totter over the border and get it in any pharmacy if I wanted it. It's beyond ridiculous that we have to go to a GP to get it.

    Not really.

They're not a sexually repressed backwater where institutions of government and church were intertwined for most of the 20th C.

They actually educate their children on sex.
