Hey all. Firstly I am sorry if I am asking questions covered by stickies already. I'm 21, 5ft 9", male and I weigh about 84kg. I have been on a weight loss program for the past 2 weeks and I quite enjoy it. It's made up of alternating weight training and HIIT days with 2 days off per week and I'm also watching what I eat (but not strictly on a diet).

Thing is I'm lacking guideance. The HIIT is fine, I do 20 mins of it that consists of 1min 30 secs at 6kph then 30 secs of 15.5kph alternations. The weight training gets me though. I do a full body workout on weight days:

Back: Lat pull down and bent over row
Legs: Squats, Leg press and leg curl
Chest: Fly, benchpress and incline press
Arms: Bicep curls and tricep extentions

I'm happy with these exercises but how much should I be doing? Sets and reps? Whats effective for helping to burn fat? Is my HIIT and weights program sufficient? Should I post my diet plan too?

    All help greatly appreciated.

This site is worth a look www.exrx.net

I would get in some chinups, dips, deadlifts, standing military press.

You would not usually do squats & deadlifts as frequently as other exercises. I deadlift just once a week.

Most do 3 sets 8-12reps for max muscle growth, beginners can do well on 1-2sets. I would stick with free weights rather than machines.
