I don't know if it's 6th year doing this to me or what but I am frickin STARVING all the time, it's not like study is particularly tiring or anything or requires massive ammounts of energy, just mental energy, which does not requiremassive feeds every few hours.

Will anyone else be joining me rolling into the exam hall next June?

It's funny, I'm finding the exact opposite this year. I'm rarely hungry!

i love the term fat mess , people always slate me for using it but it adds lightness and sounds nicer than just plain fat

I got to the gym so i can afford to pig out

The brain uses a fifth of your daily calorie intake, if you start braining more often its going to need more food, and generally likes the sugary stuff (from what I can tell).

    Braining...uses...calories?

I was thinking the same. After dinner I'm usually hungry now. I really miss the gym :(

You can think your way thin? Certainly explains Jade Goodie's formidable size; doesn't explain Paris Hiltons.

Yah I know that was the worst joke ever, but I don't care!

That would be nobel prize winning braining needed to think yourself skinny, you shouldn't have quit the gym you need distractions. I did better in the exams in second semester in final year when I took more breaks and didn't focus on studying every waking minute like I did in the first semester.

    oh lord yes!

im eating more now then ever and i was always a piggy!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,231 ✭✭✭Fad

Its more because i have really irregular meals now, and night of evening study, i just eat crap/not the correct foods, eg for dinner, i had a sandwich from tesco :pac:

    Was fúckin delish though*

However tesco stuffing leaves the most hideous after taste probably possible.

Oh Piste, you were always a fat mess.

I found myself going "I'm in LC, I TOTALLY deserve this extra pie."

(Though 2 weeks in America put more weight on me than the entirety of 6th year. What does that tell you.)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,440 ✭✭✭✭Piste

    And still last time I saw you there wasn't a pick on you ;_;

As I type this I'm greasing up my keyboard with the oil from my sister's leftover chips :(

Thank Yahweh it isn't just me! I've already gone up a size just from snacking during homework. I don't even realise that I'm doing it, then I look down and the entirre bag of nachos is gone. :(

Right, I'm giving up thinking. Maybe this is why the debs is in September? 3 months of brainless nothingness really burns off the pounds

God other people feel the same. Yeah im hungrier than ever now, and its really getting annoying, mainly cos your not sitting down for like 6 hours a day in school, and eating. Then by the end of the day I'm far too tired to excercise it off :/

I treat myself with a large size Ben and Jerrys' (Chocolate brownie fudge flavour) on a friday night :D

Oh and I bought Season 1 of the 'Wire' today. Best decision I've ever made. Best tv show ever made.

Now what about that English essay I have to do!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,150 ✭✭✭LivingDeadGirl

I don't even have the excuse of being hungrier, I'm just eating more! Haven't put anything on yet though, how strange....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,893 ✭✭✭Davidius

I'm probably eating less now. I'm afraid I might be slightly growing out of junk food.

    OH SH-

Though I found it quite interesting that the scale brings me up by 3.18kg wearing my school pants and jumper.

There's another reason school makes you tired. The weight of the uniforms!

Ah M&S chocolate chip cookies....my weakness, it's great to get five (you basically buy four and get the fifth free) and munch away while studying. I sound like such a fatty! Ah sure, whatever! It's really weird but there haven't been any in the baskets for the past week, when I've gone in looking...maybe they're trying to say something...

I find gigs to be my new form of exercise :)
(I would say which ones, but ya know, rules are rules, but i can hint by saying the days-Today and Wednesday)

Thats like 3 1/2 hours of exercise this week :D*

That said drinking beforehand today, takes away any possible benifit :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,590 ✭✭✭Pigwidgeon

God toffee crisps are the best. Blue doritos were my leaving cert food and they have remained my food for when i'm feeling a bit stressed. Didn't put on any weight over the leaving cos I practically ran to school every morning (I liked staying in bed in the mornings...)

Wait til college! The weight has piled onto me... :( I'm a stone heavier than i was in school apparently.

The high-calorie alcohol drinks at all the 18ths don't help with the not gaining weight either. But cherry cider is too good... :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,285 ✭✭✭Smellyirishman

To all those who've given up exercise in pursuit of depression and weight gain, I'd really recommend against it, especially this early in the year when you have the time. Exercise is one of the best things you can do to get your mind off study, it's extremely refreshing and serves as an excellent respite from study.

I like your thinking :D (No pun intended...)

Yeah, totally agree though, I'm turning into a big fat mess too. I seem to be eating waaaay more sugary crap than ever before, and I'm constantly eating at irregular times, and I'm always hungry.... I'm not even studying yet, just doing homework and stuff. Don't know really... comfort eating away the stress or something...

    That sounds delicious!*
(Where would one be able to procure some?)

Had Blackberry Cider in Finland, tastes like that Kerry Spring flavoured water.

*However if its Koppaberg, it probably just tastes like cough medicine, sweet delicious cough medicine.

I might just pass on that, not due the out of date factor, just the sheer trek involved to get it.

Can get it in Stillorgan too afaik. >.>

To get slightly back on topic, I'm finding in college I'm ending up eating as little as I can because eating in town/general is so expensive. So do not fear, after LC if you go to college, you'll totally go down in weight. And then promptly die due to malnutrition.

Well... most of my nutrition is now coming from the frankly AMAZING hot chocolate from Insomnia... So I am a fat person trapped in a skinny body.

Having lived a 4 minute walk from an Insomnia for at least 8 years, I am still yet to experience a beverage from there :D

Last thing I got in the Starbucks was free :pac: (Free coffee day FTW)

Get to Insomnia. They make their hot chocolate with real chocolate, so it's great, and when you're finished you can drink the melted chocolate from the bottom. Nom nom nom.
