Elbow clicking when doing light weights

Firstly, let me start by saying, I'm not a weightlifter, I'm a runner. But as part of my running program, there is some strengthening exercises, so I have been trying to perform these once a week over the last couple of weeks using a set of dumbbells.

Problem is, my right elbow seems to be clicking (as if there are a couple of joints rubbing against each other) when I do specific exercises, e.g. bench press, overhead pull, curl). I don't recall ever having injured my right elbow, and the left is absolutely fine (I'm a lefty). Any suggestions?

Hey, I have the same problem myself but I have been weight training now for some years. Maybe use a elbow support of some sort when doing those exercises that hurt you, are you lifting heavy? What your form like? Maybe throw some Glucosamine in which is a joint support, basically it provides needed supplement for your joints etc etc. Keep an eye on this and if it continues maybe see a doc

I get this quiet a bit. Knees, shoulders, elbows, hips you name it. Doesnt bother me much i just ignore it. Interested to see opinions.

I wish I was a Doctor, if your getting it all over apart from your elbow I would see a doc. Just to be on the safe side.

No, lifting very light, and have no idea what my form is like. I'm taking plenty of Glucosamine and Chrondoitin already, for distance running. I'll ignore it. It doesn't hurt, it's just a little disconcerting.

i have the same clicking most of the time - had acl surgery last year and asked surgeon about it - he said no issue - just take G'n'C and omega 3
