Muscle Milk or Whey?

Hi, I'm planning on buying a supplement online. I have always used whey protein and find nothing wrong with it, but someone recommended Muscle Milk from this site:
    http://www.cytosport.com/Product.aspx?ProductID=1

I was looking at the nutritional information and it has less protein per weight than whey, but has loads of other vitamins and stuff.
Has anyone else tried this stuff, is it any good?

My other option is the 5lb Whey tub from the supplement factory.
    http://www.thesupplementfactory.com/p1/Whey_5lbs/product_info.html

The supplement factory is €30 + €8.50 p+p, and the cytosport is about 37 with free p+p, so not much in it price wise.

I'll probably go with the whey, as all I really want is a protein supplement, and not all the other stuff in the muscle milk, but I'd like to know what ye think.

But the Cytosport stuff is only half the amount as the SF 5lb tub.

Done. End of thread. Not trying to be smart mate, but this is more a consumer behaviour post than a fitness post. You want product A, it's being offered at a reasonable price. You've noticed a similiar product B which is roughly the same price so you immediately feel like you have a choice to make. However product B is actually twice as expensive as it only contains half as much as product A and further, is actually not what you want at all.

    Buy the whey. :)

TSF whey is a bargain, you'd easily pay 60+ for it anywhere else

You primarily want a protein supplement so go with that

If you're eating right you should already be getting enough vitamins, or you can take a Multivitamin too

To be honest, i go with ON gold standard whey Protein Blend(Whey Protein Isolate, Whey Protein Concentrate, Whey Peptides), or reflex micro whey. supplement factory only has 78 g of protein per 100g, Reflex micro whey HAS 86g per 100g. also ON has quality products for all different needs.

Thanks for the replies. I just wanted to get some opinions, as the fella I was talking to seemed to think that this muscle milk stuff was the best you could get. I just had a quick look at the cytosport site last night and missed that it was half the amount.

Ya, I'd say i will go with the whey. Does the job like.

    ;)

Some higher blends might be a tiny bit better, but the price can be ridiciulously higher. Unless you are a pro athlete you should not worry, actually most pro athletes seem to be eating crap anyway!

To be honest im not a big fan of the irish brands for a number of reasons, this place just seems like 1 big advertisment for them !lol. thats just my 2 cents. Ive seen other brands on net in the right places, just need to look.

Whats wrong with buying Irish products? keeping jobs in Ireland and all that.:) can totally understand if you had a bad experience with an Irish brand but I have to say that I would be a big fan of Irish brands and will continue using them.

I have to agree with you on this one, I sell Irish, I buy Irish and I would stand by some (Not all) Irish products.

Hi, I would not consider myself a CHANCER. Thats your opinion and you are entitled to express that. The same way as everybody else, But not all Irish retailers are too expensive. I would use Irish products and over the years they have stood me well, I am 17st and fairly lean (I don't use gear) I eat clean, I train my arse off and I use Irish products. The government is trying to take our money from us by taxing this and that so why shouldn't we spend our hard earned cash on products that you can get in Ireland keeping the money in Ireland? Pay top dollar, pay for shipping and if you were to check out the ingredients you would find that they would be near enough the same. Now I would be lying if I said that I stocked only Irish products, we don't but I have to say that the Irish products that we do sell, they sell well and no complaints. In fact alot of our royal customers would use nothing but Irish, and a number of them would be seriously into the sport as much as I am, so that alone is saying alot for the quality of Irish products. I am drinking a protein shake as I type and its top quality.

Maybe you had a bad experience with one product and so you feel that all Irish products are the same but their not. Buy Irish and feck Uncle Sam:D
