Bruce Poker Launch Festival Nov 14th -16th ???????????

Can't be helped Paddy. Our date was picked in June. Almost impossible to avoid a clash with some tourney or another these days.

right i really dont understand this, is the 350 f/o main a satilite with only 2k packages paid?!

    No.

Typically top three get tickets and cash with other positions getting cash. If you see the main thread on the IPT it explains it all.

The Mayo leg will hopefully get good numbers. It's a great venue and should be one of the best legs of the tour.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 234 ✭✭ferdyfish

i read two pages of it. im still miffed, you say tickets and cash for top 3 how much cash? sure its either a satilite or its not?? call me thick like but i cant understand it. i looked up partyipc.com and all so i know its a league and they take the 500 of the 2k they add to league but how does the players 320 gets paid out is it in tickets or 3 tickets then cash thats a bit silly either it is a satilite or its not? im thinking of going to mayo to my freinds in castlebar that week, and i wouldnt usually pspend more than 100 on atournie so id like to understand this!

    Ok you're thick :D

It's what's called a feeder tournament. And you can't tell how many tickets there would be unless you know how many runners there are. But for example in Cork there were 41 runners. Top three got tickets and cash - 4th 5th and 6th got cash.

    check out www.pokerevents.ie

and you can see how each event has paid out so far.

thanks for the reply. ya i see now.
but its not advertised as a feeder. i have the flyer here, terrible advertising, no1 that i was talking to in the macau knew that it was a feeder as the flyers were out for ages and so many people thoght it was a cash payout.i was really disappointed with the advertising, it fooled alot of people. i had put euro80 into the satilite down there thinking id be playing for cash the next night if i had won a ticket:mad:

For anyone that does'nt already know, you can always sell off your ticket to the IPC if you really wanted to. for a €2000 ticket you'd easily get €1700 for it is not more.
I think these feeder/super sats are a great idea for everyone. If you want to play in the big one and you win a ticket...great! If you win and ticket and don't/can't play in the big one then sell it off. Either way its a win win situation.

Agree that it needs to be clearer on the advertising. Unfortunately printing costs being what they are I doubt the leaflets are going to change before the event. But at least you know what the situation is before you come up to Mayo know. It's not packages by the way - so it is only the ticket... And I would suggest that anyone who wins one and doesn't want the ticket [And I've yet to hear of someone winning and not wanting the ticket] Should sell for as close to the **€2k as possible and exchange the difference in a share of the player. For example *€1900 + 5% interest in the player. That way the ticket could end up a lot more valuable.

do you think the tables will be able to take all those chips not to mention the problems bagging and tagging, a real problem at closing time , the quandry of verification of chips or securing the last pint.

levels should be 10 min imho

It's a pity that it clashes with the Bruce Poker game alright as I'd like to have played in that. However, I've been a long time waiting for a good structured big game with an affordable buy-in to come to Mayo so I'll definatley be playing this. I'd imagine that there will be a pretty decent prizepool at this game

Yes indeed, Paul 'Dodge' Walsh will be playing. He won a ticket in our first satellite back in September. Sound man who plays at least twice a week in our pub games and has an.... how shall i put this...unorthodox style of play.

    Hey,

For any player that is thinking about coming from Dublin, AerArann have cheap flights to knock at the moment.
I got a price of €44 return, flying from Dublin to Knock on Friday 14th Nov and returning Sunday 16th Nov.
Considering this is the price of a train ticket it's not a bad deal!
Flights take 45 minutes so ideal for most people. Visit www.aerarann.ie for up to date prices.

What time do you expect day 2 to start?

Day 2 of the main event? It all depends on what time we end day 1. We won't know until we get a final count on numbers tbh.
