    First rep meeting today.

    At the risk of being flamed, I hope it isn't full of 1st years talking complete and utter shyte. for example;

    "parking, parking, parking. i can't get parking. parking, parking, parking."

    and let's not forget;

    "we're in on friday mornings, i don't want to come in on friday mornings. friday mornings are friday mornings"

    and as it went with the first AGM this year;

    "oh look, she's blonde, i'll vote for her."

    and there's bound to be the ould faithful;

    "i only becamse class rep for the f*cking laugh ba"

    hopefully there'll be a few people with actual things of interest to discuss...hopefully...

    I still maintain that class reps shouldnt be people that put themselves forward but who are put forward by others.

    that is good a idea only that most people probably don't even want to be it so someone just says i'll do it and everyone goes grand yeah thats fine.

    ya that's what we did in our course. while i'm obviously bias, i think myself and the guy doing with me do a decent job. but then, we've a small class (of course, there's still been plenty of sh*t to sort out at that).

    but i see exactly what you're saying, the amount of people who "do it for the craic", as they always put it, is a joke. of course, the people who vote for them are worse.

    The issues discussed at those meetings are issues that other reps want to discuss. If you want to discuss something else - bring it up! Those meetings are for reps to discuss issues with other reps and the union guys.
