There are many synonyms for random which mightn't annoy you so much because you don't hear them so often. Abnormal, irregular, off-kilter, offbeat, leftfield, alternative (ooh alternative, I don't like that actually...) Anyway yeah random is a buzz-word these last few years, it's somewhat trendy to be random in your personality. It'll pass, then predictable and calculated will be the new random and you'll be sorry you gave out about random.
