Looking for Bodybuilding Coach (Dublin / Midlands)

    Gents (& Ladies),
Maybe you can advise me? I've being doing free weights / fitness for the last 4 or 5 years but feel that I have not made the correct gains for the time and effort I have put in.
I need to improve my techniques, nutrition etc and find out what successful bodybuilders do differently.
As I live in a rural village and train in a factory gym, there is no one that I can ask for advice / show me what to do.

Would anyone know a coach who I can hire to assist me . . . . .and who you know produces outstanding results? If so, could you forward me contact details.

I'm midlands based between Cavan, Longford & Mullingar . . . . but am only an hour and a half from Dublin.

Alternatively, any good bodybuilding or powerlifting clubs especially in the midlands.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Best Regards,
    J

I can't help you on the coach aspect but whats your diet like? whats your stats? whats your workout routine like??

If you have everything in check you don't really need a coach as bodybuilding is all about you though I know it would help to have someone screaming at you to get that extra rep! Whats your progress been like on a yearly basis?

Theres plenty of knowledgeable people here that can help you..... for free as well!

Can I ask something? You said bodybuilding but also mentioned powerlifting, which are world's apart.

What are you looking to achieve? Compete in bodybuilding? Compete in powerlifting? Just look better (not knocking this btw)? Lift more? Be fitter?

    Gentlemen,
First to say, Thank you S/E, Colm & Spiral for taking the time to reply to me. It is time that you could have spend doing something else I know.

Rather than looking for a coach to motivate me, I'm looking for a coach to improve my technique, show me tricks of the trade, advise re nutrition for specific targeting etc. Training on your own makes you question whether what your doing is effective.

In relation to powerlifting vs. bodybuilding . . . . . . I'm sure that I could learn something from powerlifters. . . . . and I'm not so much interested in the aesthetics of bodybuilding . . . . rather strength and get / stay in shape.
My problem I know is trying to build muscle and burn fat at the same time. I am going the right direction but it's taking way too long. Won't bore you with my training / diet routine but I know it is ok. Have up'd my training (until Christmas) to 4 or 5 times per week x 1 hour (20 mins cardio / 40 to 50 mins free weights) / up from 3 times per week until recently. Eating 5 to 6 small "clean" meals per day (low fat / low simple carb / high protein) . . . .only thing I'm not doing is weighing my food.
I've never seen anyone bulking off season and then cutting for competition. . . . but it's seeing things like that & learning from others that I think would increase my knowledge to improve. I know the theory . . . . but it's the practical experience and exposure to the actuality that might make a difference.
Also, I'm just back from 3 weeks in Miami and every time I'm in the states, I'm trying to figure how they get so damn big . . . . steroids in the meat? steroids? less regulated / better supplementation? techniques??????
Anyway I'm waffling . . . no worries re the coach! Now that I've found you guys, I'll be keeping an eye on your advice

Any hardcore gyms in Dublin that you recommend?

    Best Regards,
    Jason
