I picked up the season 1 boxset of this show awhile back and have been hooked ever since. After a long wait season 7 has finally started in the U.S and I'm just wondering, are any other boardsies fans? will it all end in disaster for Vic and the strike team?

I'm upto episode 6 now, I think and it's getting very messy for the boys. Great show, dunno where I'll get my cop fix when I finish this and the wire.

Big fan here too. Re-watched all 6 seasons on the DVDs earlier in the year in a run up to the final season. So far, I'm well impressed with it, and can't wait to see how it all plays out.

The big question for me is, will Vic have to pay for all the bad things he's done, or will he get off and continue to be a cop? Same goes for Shane, and Ronny to a lesser extent.

This weeks episode was excellent with
Shane nearly getting offed, and now he knows that Vic and Ronny are really against him
    .

Fantastic series! I can't wait for the next series.

The Shield season 7 is AWESOME so far.

Last week's episode was f ucking unreal.

Things are so interesting now that
Shane just realised Vic and Ron tried to murder him, even thought Vic got a guilty conscience and tried to call Shane at the last minute

Definitely my all-time favourite TV show, even more so than The Wire and Dexter.

Damn I can't remember if I saw as far as season 6 or only 5 :(:(:( Gonna have to check

It really is coming at Vic from all angles.
We know Shane is capable of killing his friends if he feels threatened, and with another child on the way hes' going to go after Vic for setting him up

I hate the fact that its all going to end but at the same time I can't wait to see how.

This weeks ep was outstanding. What a show it will be painful if it really does end on this series, though it really does look that way.

It is ending on this series, that's been decided for quite a while now. 13 episodes in it too.

Another brilliant episode too, I can't wait to see how all this plays out.

    Cousins already hooked me up.

Have the thing on my hard drive and raring to go.

The Shield will always have a place in my heart, got me back into TV shows since I abandoned them in the late 80s!

    HOLY MOTHER OF FÚCK! :eek::eek::eek:

That was immense. Probably the best episode of the whole show. Just incredible.

What a final 5 minutes! Nailbiting stuff. I was actually sat there completely silenced by it. Incredible.

It's been a long time since I've been stunned like that by a show.

I don't want it to end!

Chalkitdown I totally agree, two back to back eps where I just sat glued to the screen. Its such a pity that its gonna end. I'll start looking for the box sets.

July or something.aaaaaagh! disaster. Not really into using those dodgy sites either so looks like im gonna have to wait

Amazing episode - I had to wave someone away during it because they threatened to interrupt it. To finally really see the sh*t hit the fan in a way that can't be reversed was intense - six and a half years of story bringing us to this point, this rubicon. Utterly brilliant.

    Tuesday can't come too fast.

I'll be staying up till 5 in the morning to get the latest episode.

    OMFG!

Last nights episode was incredible! Those final 7 minutes with Vic were unreal.
7 years worth of shít finally out in the open. Amazing.

Can't wait until the finale. Yet, at the same time, I don't want it to end. :o

I feel exhausted after watching that episode - so very tense, so much happening.

I can't believe we've only one more to go :(

Oh my God, one of the best hours of television ever.
The end of it and Vic's confession, wow, omg, wow.
The guy is simply the best television character ever.

My end theory(I just posted it on the imdb)
Only thing left now is for Mara(and/or Jackson thinking they were candy) to die from a drug overdose(from those red drugs that look like smarties) when Shane pops out for food, then for Shane to kill Vic in revenge(just after Vic nails the cartel), then turn to the gun on himself.

It was also interesting to see the
look of utter disgust on the agent's face and Wymms so very close to cracking. And yet Vic looked pretty unrepentant - see how he sort of pauses at the start, dwelling (give him an Emmy for that) and how by the end he almost seems invigorated by recounting what he's done.

Greatest 47min of my life....end of....can't believe only one more episode...anyone know if it will be an extended episode?

    Yep, that was so good.
I couldn't believe he just came out with it all like that. He really sold Ronny out too, I'd say he's going to be picked up by Claudette at the start of the next episode, a consolation prize for her. I was a bit in shock about Vic leaving Ronny out to hang, but then, he's not a nice guy, and never has been.

His last statement to your one, in response to her asking does he know what he's done to her, "I've done worse", just sums him up completely.

All that's to be seen now, is will Shane go down with Ronny? Will Mara get arrested and put away too? Or will they go down in a hail of bullets and/or drugs?

Can't wait for next week, can't imagine that this will actually be the end too. It would be nice if it was an extended one too.

I've a feeling he'll warn ronny and they will take back the deal. Shane and/or Mara to be shot by the police trying to escape and interested to see how the billings (compo/dirty cop) and wagembach (potential serial killer) storylines pan out also.
Must recommend this show to more people. Jealous that they will have about 70 episodes to watch!

    Awesome.

Anyone think it might be possible that
Claudette goes postal and shoots Vic?. I know it's a long shot, but she's been losing her mind more and more all season. It must be leading up to something

    Well, when she
fired dutch and called him a sanctimonious prick I got a shock so she's clearly falling apart. I think she will find a way to mess with the cartel takedown thus invalidating vic's deal and finally collaring him

It would not suprise me if Vic still retained his tefal coating and ended up walking away with his FU smile intact, however I dont think thats gonna happen. Claudettes outburst was class, and I think Jay Karnes is class as Dutch Boy, would love to maybe see a spin off with him in it?

Wow, what an episode! For those of you who have yet to experience The Shield, I envy you. In the same way I envied those people who had yet to watch The Sopranos ( and who all borrowed my collection ).
The deposition scene with Vic was just brilliant. Up to that point, I had a sneaking regard for him, but then he lays it all out and you realize that beneath all the family values and loyalty hes really no better than the criminals he has put behind bars. How will he walk away from this one? Claudette will want to get him more than ever (look at her reaction, and she hadn't even heard him confess to killing Terry, maybe she will do something unthinkable). He has betrayed Ronnie, although Ronnie will probably only realize once he is in handcuffs. Personally my money is on Shane to do the deed but all we can do is wait and see. Gripping stuff!

I've read some stuff on the final episode, but who knows how true any of it is. That's the great thing about The Shield, it never goes the way you think it will. There's a video online with interviews of the cast taken at the wrap party for the last shoot. Their very careful not to give anything away, all they do say is that the ending is mindblowing and very satisfactory. Can't ask for more can we?
Is the Dutch boy gonna meet his maker at the hands of the psycho kid?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,049 ✭✭✭Dob74

The Shield is excellant. Just finished season five of The Wire I taught it as good as the Shield. Worth checking out when the shield ends.

Ooooh, that's a good one. There has to be something brewing here, otherwise that whole plot will be a waste of time. Maybe
since Dutch has always been a bit wierd, and a loner, the kid will take him on as an apprentice?
    I doubt it though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,539 ✭✭✭ghostdancer

    never knew this thread existed.
can't believe that in a little over 24hours there'll never be another episode :(
have recommended it to about 20 people now and all have loved it.

    how i think it'll end:
Vic will get killed in this meeting between the cartel and the gangs
Shane will hand himself in for Mara and Jackson's sake
Ronnie will prob end up getting put away, if not least for dropping the cash off to Corinne.
Claudette to have some kind of accident and be hospitalised
don't know about Dutch. presumably something to do with Lloyd.
no idea about Aceveda, I can't really see how they could wrap up his story. might just leave it hanging in the wind.
Danni, Julian, Tina and Billings, prob heard pretty much the last from all of them. they definitely won't have any kind of closure anyway.

i was a bit confused that Tavon came back for one episode. surely they could have run that storyline without him?

I won't post any spoilers I promise. I realise this is the finale of possibly the greatest show ever made so people will want to see it themselves.

All I can say is, it was a very fitting end to such a great show. Some absolute shockers in it, but overall, it was probably the best 90 minutes of TV I've ever watched....
