  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 747 ✭✭✭uglyjohn

    John Rambo

    "are you bringing any weapons?"
    "No, of course not"
    "then you aint changing nothing"

"Muahnd flnf slkdmf whHGRT F dsk fdk"*

"Live for nothing or Die for something"*

the cinema was full of guys who cheared along everytime someone was killed.

Blazing Saddles is brilliant. For shame.

Commando is brilliant, so much fun. It's the best bad film I can think of.

Showgirls. Equally one of the worst and best films ever made.

Crank, so over the top so ridiculis (like my spelling) but you laugh your way through it.

They re even making a 2nd one http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1121931/

For shame, Crank is one of the best films ever made, so ridicously over the top and brilliant that you can't help but love it. Plus the Statham is fantastic in it.

Has to be Robot Monster. It is just a horrible film but it's absolutely hilarious, I couldn't stop laughing the whole way through. Seriously it's a about a guy wearinga Gorilla suit with a fish tank with Antennaes on his head. Pure quality. If you haven't seen it do yourself a favour and get it.

Some of the quotes on IMDB from that film are hilarious
Ro-Man: What are you doing alone, girl-child?
Carla: My daddy won't let you hurt me.
    Ro-Man: We'll see!

    genius! :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 99 ✭✭homergriffin

I laughed my way through Ghost Rider but there is no way I would classify it as one of the best bad movies of all time, it's just a bad movie that's unintentionally hilarious. Commando is a good suggestion. Any Steven Seagal movie. I recently bought a 8 movie box set of his and watched The Glimmerman. Steven Seagal actually tackles a guy out of a window, across a street, and in through the window of the building beside (on the same level). I don't see Chuck Norris pulling stuff like that off.

    Two Kevin Bacon classics,

    Tremors.

    and

Footloose, if this film has thought us anythin its that there's,

"A time to weep and a time to laugh; A time to mourn and a time to dance."

In my heart I know Billy Madison is a load of bollocks with no story and stupid jokes. But I laugh everytime I see it. Plus it has Steve Buscemi wearing lipstick.

    Masters of the Universe

I grew up watching this so it has a hell of a lot of nostalgic value. I can completely understand someone watching it and thinking its a pile of ****e but I love it! Its a lovable pile of ****. Shamelessly rips off Star Wars and many other movies & strays away from the source material at every opportunity but its got thats cheesy 80s charm in abundance. I could watch it over and over!

    The Chronicles of Riddick

I really enjoyed this...personally I wouldnt even class it as a bad movie but it got a lot of bad press and didnt do well at the box office. Again, it rips off a number of other movies but it also has a great streak of creativity running through it. Some of the art design is fantastic and I was also very impressed with the effects. They managed to make them very un-CGI. Its a great popcorn munching action movie.

I just cant believe that there is a thread on the best bad movie of all time and nobody has mentioned the best bad movie of all time !!

It, without a doubt has to be Fatal Deviation, it's as bad as they get, not even Steven Segal can hold a candle to this rubbish!
I've watched it more times than I have had hot dinners :-)

It's in a league all of it's own, available from Amazon, and a must have in your collection.

Buy it, watch it, laugh a lot, cringe a lot more !!
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatal_Deviation

I defy anybody to watch this movie and disagree with me !!

    Starship Troopers. Genius :D

A not a bad film IMO, Genius yes!!! It is quality in that it doesn't take itself at all seriously but kinda has that strong undertone of propaganda.

Cammando is an inspired choice, It just wouldn't be good today. But a epic film none the less.

I guess foir "so bad its good" here is my suggestion, Doubt anyone has seen it though

Ah man I LOVE that film, first one is better though.

Then again I love all those creature feature/monster oddity horror films ...

Also I think the Leprechaun series is brilliantly bad too, with the exception of number 4 (Leprechaun in space) thats just terrible.

The first one is great, remains one of my favorite films, second is watchable, third is pretty bad, fourth is dire

Death Race 2000 (original) fantastically bad, I loved every minute

Godzilla vs King Kong (or Kink Kong vs Godzilla, can't remember which), Sky show this on one of the movies channels a lot. It's an old Japanese film and it's amazing. Both Godzilla and King Kong are men in costumes. I laughed the whole way through, amazing.

Herculies in New York, Arnies first, and possibly best film

Man, I opened this thread simply to post Hercules In New York - very few bad movies come ANYWHERE close to this amazing beauty of a film.

Godzilla vs. King Kong is also amazing, thanks to the balloon scene mostly.

You Don't Mess With The Zohan..

Watched it last night, it's the definition of cringe.. but somehow it's ridiculousness had me laughing.

    Critters springs to mind.

    As does Mars Attacks
"This chewing gum is concentrated Nitrous Oxide!"
"Nitrous Oxide... no THAT'S how it was able to breathe in our atmousphere..."

    Demolition Man.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

how about Plan 9 From Outer Space

Any movie starring guys named Tor Johnson (sound like an extremely painful medical condition), Dudley Manlove and "almost starring" (taken from the DVD cover) Bela Lugosi has to be good...just look at the following (a small sample of what this film has to offer)

Criswell's opening and closing monologues containing such gems as.."Greetings, my friends. We are all interested in the future, for that is where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives. And remember, my friends, future events such as these will affect you in the future."

Aliens decide to take over the earth to stop us from discovering an explosive which can explode sunlight and destroy the universe...Here's the description of how it works..
"Take a can of your gasoline. Say this can of gasoline is the sun. Now, you spread a thin line of it to a ball, representing the earth. Now, the gasoline represents the sunlight, the sun particles. Here we saturate the ball with the gasoline, the sunlight. Then we put a flame to the ball. The flame will speedily travel around the earth, back along the line of gasoline to the can, or the sun itself. It will explode this source and spread to every place that gasoline, our sunlight, touches. Explode the sunlight here, gentlemen, you explode the universe. Explode the sunlight here and a chain reaction will occur direct to the sun itself and to all the planets that sunlight touches, to every planet in the universe. This is why you must be stopped. This is why any means must be used to stop you. In a friendly manner or as (it seems) you want it."

A police inspector scratching his head over and over again with the barrel of his gun.

Flying saucers on string whooshing through space (complete with wind effects)

And of course some of my favourite movie lines ever..
"I don't like hearing noises, especially where there's not suppose to be any"
"Well, I have to have something to keep me company while you're away. Sometimes in the night when it does get a little lonely, I reach over and touch it, then it doesn't seem so lonely anymore."

    No Retreat No Surrender.

The first film i ever seen Van Dame in. He was the bad guy the kid was fighting in the end. When the kid he fights hit him first in the ring, he utters the words "so it is you, the kid, is it not". I think thats all van dame said for the whole movie. I think he was dubbed also. Anybody seen it should know the part. Hilarious:D
Bruce lee even comes back from the dead to train the kid.:D

The trailer and end fight are on youtube. Would have put it up but i have no idea on how to put a youtube clip in my post. Would appreciate if someone could tell me how. Cheers.

Some movie called "The howling 3" or something like that...anyways it was about were-koalabears, near as I could figure.

Or Bring It On. Absolutely crappy movie about cheerleading saved by the fact that everyone involved knew it was terrible and just took the piss. The script is genius "Cheerleaders are dancers gone retarded" "This isn't a democracy, it's a cheerocracy!" etc etc, and most of the actors look like they're barely managing to keep a straight face. They also have the most teeth-itchingly awful stereotype of the alternative teen ever. (he wears a clash t-shirt, that's how you know he's from out of town.) And besides, a large portion of the movie is taken up with half naked teenagers dancin like ridiculoulsy flexible ho's. It's a classic.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 990 ✭✭✭rosboy

    The Marine

It has a wrestler (John Cena) as its hero. It's similar to Commando in plot i.e. a one-man-army has a family member abducted and tracks down/kills the bad guys to get them back.

I'm not a wrestling fan (I'm about 15 years too old for that now!), and Cena's performance has to be one of the worst performances ever put on screen.

What I enjoyed about the film was that it knew it was daft, and didn't take itself seriously at all. Robert Patrick was the lead bad guy and really hammed it up, as did another one of the bad guys, Anthony Ray Parker.

Really earns thet "so bad it's good" title IMO.
