I obviously titled this thread so I sound more like cyborg. You can ignore that though.

    But here's my question:

I just spent a month away in South East Asia, doing very little excercise except for walking. I had planned when heading off to do bodyweight stuff like press ups etc at night, buts its too god damn hot there to do anything except lie under air conditioning when I got back to the hotel/hostel.

Should I ease back into the gym or should I try and pick up as close to where I left off. Before I went I was doing a 3 day split, deadlift, squat and bench 5x5. I am afraid if I did a squat day tomorrow I might not walk for a week.

Should I maybe do higher rep full body workouts for a few weeks to get some conditioning back or should I suck it up and just go back to before? lifting lower weights obviously.

Its been quite a while since the gym scared me.

Its ok to go back into what you were doing but take it easy with the weight you are lifting for the first week and just get a starting point for each exercise. You don't want to start lifting real heavy as you'll be sore for a week. Your routine is grand just watch how much your lifting

The main thing is to recover from the jet lag and get your sleep patterns right after coming back from that far East. Go easy for 7 days after your return !

Chances are, based on my own experience, that you won't be able for high rep stuff straight away. Perhaps for the first three four weeks start with a weight you are absolutely safe with and add reps/sets every week as opposed to weight?
