How many are registered so far?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 713 ✭✭✭Mr. Wolf

49 players registered for the main event so far Iain, 40 tickets have been booked up by other poker companies so as it stands with some players having won partial tickets etc it looks like 100 down 100 to go (max capacity is 200).
I'll have a clearer picture of how many exactly are gone next week
P.S. i'm gonna do a €20 entry with 1 re-buy and or top up for €20 on Monday night in The Meadowview. 3 CPO tickets guaranteed minimum.
Hope to see u there buddy

sounds good, where is The Meadowview is it in Cavan, wat time on Monday?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 713 ✭✭✭Mr. Wolf

Yes the Meadowview Inn is in Cavan Town, beside the Cavan Crystal Hotel and just opposite KFC. I better give the full low down on this game before the mods get me, so here goes:

    1. Who is running the event (Hibernian Poker)
    2. The purpose of the event (commercial)
    3. Date and Location of event: Meadowview Inn, Cavan Town, Monday 29th September.
    4. Registration and Start time of event. reg 8.30pm, start 9pm SHARP (bonus chip until 9pm)
    5. Any prerequisites (member of club, which is free)
    6. How can tickets be purchased & is there a maximum number- pay on the night, max capacity 100
    7. Type of Tournament (NL Hold'em, 1 re-buy and/or top option)
    8. Cost of entry and any subsequent rebuys/top-ups etc. €20 with 1 re-buy and/or top up option for €20 each
    9. Cost of registration- I'm gonna attempt to cover the venue costs, make some league contribution and if possible earn a few quid for myself but I can't quite put a figure on a registration fee. I suppose its a maximum of €10 per player, I'm guaranteeing 3 x €300 tickets so if i've 20 players i'll be running it at a loss. If i've 40 I should be able to get out at least 6 tickets.
    10. % of entry fee/rebuys/top-up going into Prize fund - between 90% and 150% depending on numbers
    11. Any guaranteed prize pool. YES. top 3 players receive tickets for the 2008 Cavan Poker Open worth €300 each.
    12. If applicable, Number of re-buys allowed and over what time frame/blind levels. 2 for 1st 4 levels or top up at the end of level 4.
    13. Starting Chips 4k + 500 bonus for players registered before 9pm
    14. Rebuy and Top-up chip amounts. 4k rebuy and 8k top up (or 2nd rebuy)
    15. Blind levels, 20 mins for 1st 8 levels, 15 mins thereafter. Blind levels may be replayed depending on big blind/average stack ratio
    16. Blind timeframes 50/100 100/200, 200/400, 300/600, (break for food and top up) 400/800, 500/1000, 800/1500, 1000/2000, 1500/3000, 2000/4000, 2500/5000, 3000/6000, 4000/8000 etc
    17. Places being paid and if any prizes are other than cash. Minimum of top 3 win tickets for the 2008 Cavan Poker Open.
    17. Is food provided- Yes, finger food is provided for players during the top up period (end of level 4)
    18. Are there going to be dealers - no.
    19. Will there be a documented list of rules - yes.
    20. Is there a tournament director - yes.
    21. How are disputes handled - who has final say. Mick Mc Guane TD

    Erm bump
In response to the new questions posed in the poker events charter:
10a: Is any money retained towards other games. Yes I run a league for which i take out a maximum of €20 per night and I give out a best hand prize and a bubble prize both of which are €70 tickets towards my next big game (Meadowview Inn, Cavan Monday October 27th) all else is paid out in cash. The Monday night game mentioned above is a satellite so all prizes are paid out here in ticket form, but thats satellites for u.
22: Cash tables & Rake: Funnily enough, as far as I know i'm the only Poker Operator not raking cash games. I don't charge anything for side games either.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 713 ✭✭✭Mr. Wolf

Last nights satellite in The Meadowwview in Cavan had 44 players thus generating 6 Cavan Poker Open tickets, along with €70 for the best hand and for the bubble position (7th) so i'm gonna run the same game next Monday also in The Meadowview.
3 of the 6 players who won the tickets already had one so they each took €300 in cash and this deal will apply to all future games also. If you've already won a ticket you can take the cash alternative.

Tonites Game in Healy's Bar, Virginia (about 15 minutes from Kells on the N3) is a €55 freeze-out, thats €48 + €7 reg.
This venue normally gets about 30 runners so i'd be expecting a prize-pool of about €1,450.

Quick Q - Can you rebuy straight away or do you have to lose your chips first?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 713 ✭✭✭Mr. Wolf

Thanx for that Shane, don't worry, i've put your tickets on hold buddy. And as to Warpers question, the answer is no, you can't re-buy straight away, you must lose all your chips or wait until the top up period which is the end of level 3 (10pm on the Friday night)

Roll on December......It's gonna be a Monaghan man taking home the Title!

Well a Meath man won it in '06 (Lorcan Fox) and a Monaghan man won it in '07 (Padraig Murphy). If a Cavan man (or woman) does not win it in '08 I am liable to get really drunk and sing a lot of songs out of key.
Theres a good chance that this will also happen if a Cavan man (or woman) does win it...
Who is this (Chaosfromhaden) by the way? I'm thinking either Derek or Rodney...

Hmmm, easier said than done Iain, I think I need the mods to change the heading.
Is that right mods? If so could you change the header to read:

    Thank you

Sorry, my bad, I didn't realise you knew Shane, thought you were just being facetious.

I'm fairly sure there will be no tickets available on the day, i've 124 out so far and max capacity is 200 so it looks like we'll reach capacity within the next fortnight.
There will be plenty of side action though, including a €110 with €50 top up at 7pm on the Saturday and an €80 with €40 top up at 7pm on the Sunday.
