Who here can do one or is training for them? I just did my first ones (a few single reps) yesterday. Have been training the progressions on and off for a while. I need to work a bit on form as yesterdays singles were a little jerky on the ascent.

In case anyone doesn't know what I'm on about

How often have you smacked your face of the ground? I know I couldn't do that :)

Yep, full rollout and back again. I have been able to roll "out" to the full extension for a while but wasn't able to get back up again. What got me past that sticking point was placing the wheel up against a wall, getting into the extended (horizontal) poisition by sliding my feet back and then explosively contracting my abs.

Haven't really smacked my face on the ground for a good while :) If I felt I was about to fall i'd just put my knees down

I'm about 83 kg now which is heavy for me, have gained a lot of weight this year. Not sure what effect bodyweight has on the rollouts - however I get the feeling that it'd be one of the easier bodyweight exercises for a heavier individual to do. Heavier people tend to have a lot of mass in the hips and legs, this will really hinder the chances of doing certain other BW exercises eg handstand pushups, one arm pullups.

I guess it does. I see light lads can do them on other forums.

The forum in my sig link has guys who use them, also there are guides on making them, they make 2 wheel versions which are meant to be good.

Abrollouts can be done on gymnastic rings too, these are great for progressions since you can raise or lower your rings to make them harder.

On a proper rollout nothing is meant to touch the ground but your feet, very hard to do. Youtube is full of videos of them.

Here is the homemade wheel and the progressions. The good hard stuff starts after 2mins!
