Biotech USA have entered the Irish market.
A new shop is situated on the moore street end of the Ilac. Looks good, not sure about the quality of Biotech tho, however I do know I've been looking for citrulline Malate for a while and they had it.

    The jury is out.

I got some in the Polish supplement shop in Moore Street Mall.

I bought one of the protein bars in the Ilac and though it was horrible.

I wouldn't rate them on the taste of a protein bar tbh.

Quality as in actually usefull supps would be a preference over taste, we'll see!

True, but it made me wonder about the Biotech range. Especially as the ingredients in some of the multi-vits seemed to be on the cheap side.

    Which ingredients were they?

From what i know, they make some very good and innovative products. Dont rate on the taste of protein bars as they are very hard to flavour.

Also please look at the ingretient listing on the protein bars, most of them are full of rubbish. The biotech protein bar has soy in it which has a horrible taste in bar applications. It is roughly 37% protein which is high.

Ill try pick some up in the next few days.

Jon, if you can recall, how are they on prices say for 5lbs of protein etc?

I can't remember actual prices but it didn't seem over the top. It was inline with current prices. What struck me was the amount of products, they seem to have a large selection of stuff. Snooping around the internet on them I have a sneaky feeling they are a subsidery of Universal Nutrition, couldn't be sure though.

Im eating one of the Protein bars right now they’re actually nice although they had 2-3 different types which one did you have ?
I was going to go for the dark chocolate flavour but the guy in the shop suggested the cookie dough so i went for that. He said the others can be a bit bitter?
the guy said they only set up last wed and they did have lots of products.

I had the dark chocolate protein one (I eat Lindt 99% chocolate, so I really like bitter chocolate) but I thought it tasted like sweetened putty.

Good thing, really, put me off protein bars for another six months.

Most of the magnesium used seemed to be Magnesium oxide, which is the cheap and nasty form.

    Hi Jon,

I'd be intrested in the results you get from citrulline Malate, have been considering it for a while.
    Cheers
