Sorry if this is old news, only heard Ray D'arcy mention it this morning.
Zig and Zag's first ever DVD will be released by RTÉ in October 2008 to celebrate the duo's 21st anniversary since appearing on Irish Television. The DVD will be entitled Best Bitz from Back Den and will feature a compilation of links, music items, Christmas Specials spanning Zig and Zag's Den years between 1987 and 1993.

Sounds fantastic BUT! given RTE's history with retro DVD releases, I bet this will only feature 60 minutes of clips with no extra features, cost €19.95 with a further 60 minute Volume II to be released for Xmas 2009*

*(precedent Halls Pictorial Weekly, Bosco, Mike Murphy et al).

Haven't seen the other DVDs, but wasn't the first Bosco dvd 3 hours long or something?

I've tried mailing theden@rte.ie, the Youth Programming heads and the admin of the RTÉ shop and have heard nothing back on this regarding a release date or details. Anyone out there working in a HMV or anything seen Octobers slate that could confirm?

I just called into Roxy music shop in Shannon. And they said it will be released on November 7th. Which sucks a bit cause i was hoping it would be out in October as was mentioned previously.

Ted Watch, Stamp out line dancing, St Patricks day,

"With a shillelagh in me ear and a shamrock up my nose, ill be off to connemara in the morning"

Don Conroy, Simon Young, Podge's various aliases, The bands, The music video at the end of the day.

It was the run up to christmas though that the Den really ruled the roost.

Wo sind die Zogabongen? Kleine Zogabogen auf die chocoladen Zagen. That line always stuck with me. :-)

I saw the special last night on RTE 1. Over the end credits I think the continuity announcer said the lads would be interviewed on either the late late or tubridy tonight in their first live tv appearance for many years to promote the dvd. I'm not sure when this will be on though. Did anyone catch the date?
