    Did absolutely ****e tbh, I'm pretty sure in all the B's I got they were verging on A's =/

    Irish (o) = B
    English = C
    French = D
    Maths = C
    Business = B
    Science = B
    Geography = B
    History = A
    CSPE = A
    Latin = B

    Happy with History and Latin. CSPE doesn't count as it's to easy, the rest I should really have gone 1 grade up from what they are other than latin. Geo and Science I should've gotten an A in and Maths and English I should've at least gotten a B in.

    Roughly one in 25 candidates fail CSPE. The paper is difficult to read for people with literacy problems.

    Oh, but good for you, you're not one of them.

    I got an A in music and i only got a c in my mocks...i didn do anything different. I had a bad teacher...and i just had a good go at it. But everyone else in my class got b's...andin nearby schools they all got b's. Only 600 people in the whole country got a's in music. 8.4 per cent. That is not a lot at all!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34 oponodon

    Four A's in HL english, HL maths, HL science, and cspe.
    The rest B's, though i did do french and irish in ordinary level.

    Im thrilled! biggrin.gif

    Also I got a B in HL religion tho, which PROVES the exam is completely f**ked up. I never studied, wrote nothing but nonsensical ****e for the essay, skipped a Q and to top it had a headache on the day, so i screwed up writing what i did know. I think the corrector felt sorry for me or something...

    (or someone else got my results, and i got theirs. If some RE genius was surprised with their D, my fault, sorry... :cool:)

    One of the kids I teach could not read when he came to us in 1st year.

    He got:
    B in Foundation Maths
    C in Ordinary English
    D in Foundation Irish
    D in Ordinary Art
    B in Ordinary E.S.S.
    D in C.S.P.E.

    He burst into tears when he saw his results, he was so happy. He is the first person in his family ever to sit a State Examination.

    Actually in terms of handling him he was no bother at all. A lovely little bloke, no trouble. This may have been his undoing in primary - because he did not cause trouble or mischief, he was probably left at the back or sent on messages when he started to fall behind and it just got worse and worse as the years went on.

    The squeaky wheel gets the oil and all that.:(

    Of him, yes, of me, not terribly.

    Actually it makes me quite angry that this child (and many like him) didn't get the chances in life to let him be here on boards.ie going on about being disappointed to get a B in Higher Level anything. He's not a 'special' child. He is of normal intelligence but has been neglected and overlooked again and again. I sometimes wonder what kids like him could have achieved in a literate household with parents who had a positive view of education.

    hey, i am really happy with my results overall, i got 9 A's, 1 B and 1 C. The c was in ordinary art, which is compulsory in my school for junior cert, which is really annoying cos i am horribla at the subject. Anyway, my B was in Irish which i am completely shocked about, i am really considering appealing. No one got an a in higher irish in my year and i am the best at irish and i am definitely sure the paper was not that hard. How did the rest of ye do in irish?

    I got a C:mad: and to be honest I was shocked as i was one of the best in my class. I think that if I were to appeal the result that I would get moved up but I don't think I will as I don't think I will be that bothered about it in November when the appeals come out and i was happy with all my other results!

    Does it have an effect on which LC class you get into? If it does, I would appeal it if I were you.

    There can be substantial leaps in marks on JC rechecks as the most common error is a mis-tot of the marks.

    No I don't think it will in irish as we are having a test next week to decide that and I don't think that my teacher would let me be put into the other class based on my j.c result as I have been fairly consistant over the last 3 years!!

    Matter of interest,how did you do last year?

    Copy Paste:
    Irish - D (Yay!)
    English - B (:))
    Maths - A (:D)
    History - B (I messed up, could have easily gotten an A :( )
    Geography - A (Really wasn't expecting that)
    French - D (I could have sworn that I did better)
    Art - C (Pretty good considering my project went missing and I had to do it all again in the last few weeks)
    Business - B (Satisfied)
    Science - B (Considering that we were without any tuition for the most part and barely touched on Chemistry it's pretty good)
    CSPE - B (I don't know where I went wrong but I knew something was going to bring me down during the exam :( )

    I did around the same or worse than the mocks. History and CSPE could've been As. Overall I'm moderately satisfied.

    I'm so annoyed with my results..
    i got A's in everything that dosn't matter and i got C's in things i thought i would get A's in..

    A - art (:D)
    A - CSPE (not even a real subject..)
    A - religion (thought i failed that :D)
    B - science
    B - history
    C - french
    C - english (:()
    C - tech graph
    C - geography (:( this used to be my best subject..)
    C - maths (kinda happy with this)
    D - irish (the icing on the cake :D)

    I demand a re-check!
    Anyone else think geography was corrected hard this year? (besides the people who got A's)

    well if you feel bad about your results just look at mine :D

    To be honest i studied the morning of each test and the night before.. i wonder how i would of done if i actually studied properly :)
    well my family are not that pushed about the junior cert results anyway, thats why i didn't study. Its all about the leaving cert.

    I was tempted to intentionally do poorly and get an F, to show how anti-patriotic I am. :B But I knew my CSPE teacher wouldn't let me do bad on my Action Project, and I didn't want to get a C. It was aaaalllll or peanuts.
