I'm 25, male, 6 foot tall, just under 11 stone, slim build. Been doin weights for the last year but not seeing good results because of poor calorie intake and possibly overtraining. Now, I do weights 3 times a week and a little cardio at the weekend. Monday evening upperbody, Wednesday evening lowerbody and Friday evening upperbody.

I am looking for advice on the best diet to gain weight/muscle. I cant do more than 3 square meals a day, but generally they are pretty good as regard to protein and healthy eating etc, its the inbetween's I need to improve on. I am thinkin a protein shake in morning and protein bars before and after sessions.

So can anyone reckomend good buy's in those two areas. And then just any suggestions on the best foods to be snackin on. I hear alot of milk is good and nuts(not sure what kind are best), any advice really would be great. I hear that once you're gettin a good amount of calories a day it dosent really matter in what form but I doubt thats true. Gonna start monitoring my weight daily and would like to see a definite increase. Maybe someone has a sample diet of what I would need to be eating a day, I hear around 3000 calories is what ya need to be aiming for.

What makes you think you're overtraining??

Eat as much peanut butter as you can and drink as much milk as possible every day and you'll "bulk up" fairly quick.
