Winter - most active time?

So I ask this just out of curiousity, with the impending winter months beckoning, will this forum become way more active than it currently is?

What if you are living in the far north part of europe, where it is only light for a few hours a day...at most?

Does this appeal to you, once my internship is over I'm going to be going back into my nocturnal mode.

    Personally I can't wait :pac:

Oh great, we'll be stuck with YOU.

I'd say it's going to stay pretty much the same. We didn't have a summer this year so we won't notice that big a difference.

The dark evenings always have appealed to me. I was ecstatic when it started getting dark by 9pm again! :D

I don't think we'll see a huge difference in the forum's activity though.

Yep I have to go along with that as well. I love the early evening's in Ireland. I tend to get more things done that would otherwise distract me during the spring and summer months. Definitely a creative time of the year, thats for sure.

Lovin' the fact that it's getting dark now... :)

I agree here, i have resigned myself to calling Nov/Dec/Jan the summer now as we seem to get better weather in those months :p

The forum WILL seem a little quieter, only because alot of us students wont be online as much in the night :(

I am a winter baby, have always loved the end of the year/beginning of the next and the darkness that comes with it :D

Dude, the forum is actually quieter than it was for a while!

Is it wrong that I actually like winter and the horribly dark evenings and having to wrap up in many many layers of clothing before you leave the house?

I may be even less nocturnal from the 22nd on as I'll be back to college and my usual hectic lifestyle. :(

Yep! There's nothing better than walking on a cold clear night where you can see the sky perfectly! Specially when there's a full moon and you can see your breath in front of you! It's great! :D

Yeah, but I wasn't a mod in here when it was at it's most mental so I didn't have to try and keep up as much

I'm the same, I love the cold when I'm in bed, sometimes sleep on top of the duvet in the middle of winter

Jebus! That's just crazy! In winter i snuggle up the radiator with hot water bottles and extra blankets and jammie bottoms tucked into socks and the whole lot!

I love winter though. I'm loving that it's getting dark so much earlier. There's no nicer feeling than walking around under the stars on a freezing night.

    I miss winter!

Um... dunno how you define "night time", but for me its a time when its night. Night tends to be dark, no? On average, like? :)

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Well, night time during the summer rocks. It's bright late and early which is good. Ya know, that whole thing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,730 ✭✭✭✭entropi

What i like about it most though, is out walking when it is raining during the night, or rain has just cleared and a starry sky opens up, with no-one around to bother you :)

Everything is just so quiet and tranquil, clears the air along with the mind.

Yep, I love that too, although sometimes instead of the silence I go for some music. Walking around in the middle of the night in the rain listening to The Birthday Massacre or something along the same vein, great way to unwind

Just being a gaming nut. It's a reference to Final Fantasy VIII. Has a great ring to it.

The moon of Final Fantasy VIII is inhabited by monsters which periodically descend to the planet when their number becomes too great in a phenomenon known as the "Lunar Cry". 80 years before the events of Final Fantasy VIII, the Lunar Cry destroyed the continent of Centra. The people of the Centra civilization, which existed 4000 years before the events of the game, gradually migrated to other continents, founding Esthar and the Dollet Empire. Galbadia, Balamb, Timber, and other countries were founded later. The mild climate and temperament of Esthar's citizens led to their scientific advancement. The Crystal Pillar, an artefact from the moon, produces an energy field between the planet and the moon, which triggers the Lunar Cry at "Tear's Point", an area near Esthar. Upon this discovery, the scientists of Esthar created the "Lunatic Pandora", a vehicular enclosure for the crystal, built to artificially start the Lunar Cry.

I love wandering aimlessly around at night...anyway..

THe activity might get a little busier or not.As Christmas comes time is usually no your own.Exam ,deadlines, extra shifts to afford different things for that day coming up might take effect but I dont think it matters.Whenever people come and go they always feel welcome.
