To answer your question Glyn - there is nothing NEW available.

I think this actually says something quite profound about poker; there has been maybe two decent books ever written about it

    sigh :(

Prof, Banker and the suicide king
    or similar,

but my local (public) library is my prefered location

I was gonna start my own thread about this. But is Gus Hansen's 'Every hand revealed' worth a buy? I hate spending dosh on crap books.

In a nutshell Yes. It's really good & insightfull but obv only for tourney players..... :D

I read that and liked it.......many of the pro's books (Harrington, Hellmuth, etc) show you the benefits of playing tight. Gus books as you can imagine shows you the other side of the medal.

He's not nearly as laggy as he likes to portray especially OOP. In position (especially Cutoff & Button) he's aggro but his early career image gets him paid off a lot these days..... :D

Has anyone read 'the poker mind set' by Ian Taylor and Matthew Hilger?
    Any good?

I bought it cos I heard it was good and it has been gathering dust ever since it arrived. Let me know what its like if you read it.

I thought 'Moneymaker' was a good read. It's basically a trip report of the '03 ME and the lead up to it. He comes across a bit of a dickhead in parts, but if you can get past that, he tells the story well. I couldn't put it down.

ah, they're all good - Musical Chairs maybe? In the style of Doc Farrell, that's my current 'toilet book'

they're pretty much all the same format, same characters and the plot is fairly incidental!
