So it appears season 3 will start filming within the next couple of weeks according the their site on Channel 4.

I for one, can't friggin wait.. It is by far one of the finest comedies on TV and if i may say so, is on par with Father Ted but with the added advantage of being up to date/modern etc.

I hope there are many seasons to come.

one of the Fr Ted seasons was 10 episodes. But afaik IT Crowd is written by Graham Linehan on his own, so a longer season is unlikely.

The I.T. Crowd is excellent but it still has a bit to go before it matches the mercurial Father Ted. Let me reiterate, though, that I'm really looking forward to Season 3!!

If its only starting filming in the new few weeks, does that mean it won't air till '09?

Hope its a long run than 6 episodes, better comedy around these days, along with Peep Show.

I don't know... it's a funny show but comparing it to the likes of 'Father Ted' is a bit extreme.

Last season was extremely hit and miss.. from the fantastic opening episode ("Welcome to the United.. QUEEEEENDOM!") to the dire German cannibal episode. Matt Berry was a fantastic introduction to the cast but really wasn't used enough.

Any episode that contains that reworked anti piracy add can never EVER be called dire. :)

But that's the only remotely funny thing people can honestly remember about that episode..! :D

agreed - the one with Jen's "is he, isn't he" date - was rollin around.... and Roy getting taken away in the van at the end...

Find that it's all very much in Linehan's original Slapstick style but I never tire of it...

I just saw an ad for the new series...

It looks a lot different, definitely more 'polished', not sure how that will work out.

Definitely looks a lot different, looks like they took the things that were making it funny and tried to amplify it, but I hope that doesn't ruin it!
Still though, can't wait for Friday!

On his blog, Graham Linehan talks about the show a bit, including how he got ideas and stuff for the set from people. There should be plenty of opportunities for geek-spotting, including the shirts the characters are wearing. (Some from The Register, some from webcomic Diesel Sweeties, and who knows where else. I wonder whether there will be some Questionable Content in there - I actually bought one of their "Hannelore" shirts.)

    It was.... OK.

Matt Berry has quickly became the best thing about it... his line "take that lollipop man" was the funniest of the episode!

Good to see Chris Morris back

Roy is too........ pretty. It just doesn't work, he's too well groomed and normal.

Matt Berry definitely was the highlight of the episode, the production is so different though it will take a few episodes to get used to it and then it will be over already!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,788 ✭✭✭tvnutz

started off slow, but I thought it was really good. Some hilarious lines in it. "Take that lollipop man". "Wow a gun!" "Is that Hitler?" Douglas is brilliant.

Also couldn't stop laughing at the end. "I've got a ruddy gun!" :D

    Great stuff.

I didn't find it too funnt tbh though I'm exactly an avid watcher of it. Some laffs but a bit too 'slow' or something

It was... alright. Matt Berry was brilliant as usual, but the rest was not so good.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6 lorcrezkaze

Agreed. It was only alright. roy looks like he's taken too good care of himself in between seasons, (lost weight?) and the characters have become too... Overt and hokey.

Matt Berry absolute genius, saved the show, saved it.
