Alright O knowledgable bunch, I've been looking at rowing machines and more specifically the price of them. It's a bit steep for some (Ihad a esarch of the forum and Concept 2 was recommended.) and I'm wondering is the extra money really worth it? I use a cheap enough exersice bike and it does a good job, I mean a bike is a pretty basic thing. All I need from it is an alright seat and a difficulty adjuster. Now I want to know are rowing machines the same deal? Is a budget one I pick up in Argos going to explode five minutes in? Any big disadvantages? I'm aware there are two different types of rower. I'm thinking of the one that's directed at cardio. I'm having to wait for extra work so I don't have a lot to spend and I'd love to start a new routine tomorrow.

I know concept 2's are expensive but its worth the extra cash. I have owned both a concept 2 and a crap argos one. crap argos one doesnt give you the same type of workout, I found it to be utterly worthless and wasn't worth the effort of buying it. Concept2 also has stronger residuals.
Check some of the posts on concept2.co.uk, your question's been asked many times before.

I wouldn't trust the official website of the product I'm thinking of buying though I've been searching these forums some more and the concensus seems to be that the cheaper machines aren't worth it. It's a pity.
