IwW Gym Closes Down

I've just heard from a friend of mine who's in IwW that the reason that the last Gym wars happened in august was because there training gym is closing its doors. Seems big things are happening in IwW. And not for the better.

Someone should give them a ring and see whats going on...

(Anyone get my hidden joke? yes, it was a horribly over-used unfunny joke, but a joke nonetheless)

Seriously.. wonder whats going on there at all... It'd suck if they closed it down.

well my friend in IwW(I wont name him so dont ask) said IwW had to cut costs due to huge loses from the last tour. Now just because there gym MIGHT be closing(its possible he was told it would close if ppl didnt train but for some reason i dont think so) That doesnt mean IwW is going under. There still advertising shows. If it closes IwW will continue, with or without a training school. They just wont have anyone new.

I'd be interested in a more reliable source...

Looks like someone is trying to avoid libel. Either it is closing, or it might be closing, but make up your mind.

Ok VR. Ok. these were his exact words. "ah man i dont know where i'm gonna train the gym is closing down"

Fair enough, but i wouldn't say it's the end of IWW. This isn't the first time they lost a gym, they had a Gym burn down in 2004 (i think) and they bounced back from that when they opened the place in Baldoyle.

If it is down to finances, it could also be a case of finding a cheaper place to use as a gym.

the gym in baldoyle is a great facility but i'm betting those units cost a bomb. sure if they were cheap ppl would be living in them. point is if the gym is closing due to so much money lost where does that leave the current batch of trainees. do they stay in the hope a new facility will be found or do they head to Nwa. The cpw training is not happening at the moment as the head trainer is MIA. So if IwW dont have a training centre NwA will be the logical choice.

Anyone remember around the time of those...i mean THAT show with nigel, balls, raven, Someone called IwwInfo, (who i assume were representing Iww)
said theyre price hikes for that show was because they lost their insurance and had to find someone new?

Maybe thats it, the insurance fell through and now instead of busting their asses trying to fix it they are just going to hold on untill they can find someone better?

Total rubbish, people living in warehouse units. Where do you think we are, the Gaza strip?! And you could easily get a cheaper warehouse unit that wasn't so central, thats why business relocate to the likes of Leixlip, Citywest, etc.

Well you've got me there alright, NWA could have a massive talent influx, but my point was rather than jumping to conclusions, would it not be a better idea to hear exactly where IWW plan to take this? Rather than trying to be a dirt sheet king or something? Especially when you're not even involved with the promotion? ;)

You sure you didnt just ask the oracle?!

    Ah what the hell:
You asked: Has the IWW gym closed down?
The Oracle replied: Yes, if you trust yourself. You can tell others you heard it from me. They’ll believe you better if you do so.

I heard it from the oracle....

Would you stop, you'll be waiting longer for one of them than it would take for Rick O' Shea's hair to grow back. If they can't be ars*d to update their website in 3 months what hope do we have? I's say Ballymun Bruiser is doing some punching of walls at this latest debacle. I mean where's he gonna go now to drop his missus on her head now to show how tough he is?:pac:

While I am not management, I know that situation with the IWW gym is basically as follows....

Currently costs of running the gym/training facility are overrunning income and have been for some time now. The costs of running a half decent facility are quite high; try finding one that is willing to accept in a wrestling school and you are onto another battle altogether! For now, IWW management have decided to stand down from offering training classes and will concentrate energies on promoting shows utilizing the talent from the main IWW roster (MMM, Vic Viper, Mandrake etc) along with international talent. The possibility of re-opening a training school will be looked at in the future when time and resources permit.

This I hasten to add is NOT an official statement of IWW and I don't profess to speak on their behalf.

The Phoenix-Pro school (fromerly the CPW school) is still having training. Don't know where you guys heard we are not. We have open workout on Saturday and Sunday. Yes our Head Trainer is currently on the road we have a well knowledgable assistant trainer in charge until our head trainer returns in the autumn.

So if you want more information on the school visit www.bebo.com/phoenix-pro Yes I know shameless plug, lol.

Would it not be a better idea for IWW to not rely so much on international talent?. Once a year or so would work, but every show wouldn't be a requirement for selling tickets. After all, does yer average 9 year old kid know who Ippei Otta or El Generico are?

There's a post on IWW's forum saying that the training school will still be continuing in their gym in Baldoyle until they find a new location, which they are looking for: http://www.irishwhipwrestling.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1676&postcount=2

    Dude, chillax

he isnt attacking you, he is just saying that IwW need a little more 'help' than an announcer right now.

I know what your thinking, just because iww is a small enough company and have a small amount of money that they are automatically going to swing their doors open for you?
i thought that too. But i hate to tell you, but they wont. Im sure your the next colin farrell and everything, but i think they wanna sort their own problems out before bringing any new ones in,
just look, they closed the school down (for now)

I might go to Tescos this week for my shopping I'd get a laugh out of giving Raven and Balls a euro to pack my shopping bags they might even sign my shopping bags, If you posted your shopping list on line at IWW will they do you're shopping for you and do home delivery maybe not if the ring is anything to go by

at no time did i apply for a job through this site i merely asked for contact details.

``its time for a reality check`` now explain that there to me,what in your view does that involve?

i also stated announcer as an example, not discrediting eamon darcy who has been the voice of iww.

while you may have reviewed some shows ,i wrote many articles for a wrestling site about iww aswel so no point trying to put me down.

You're veering from the point. In no way, shape or form does me having written a handful of reviews make my opinion more valid than yours. But I would be very suprised if IWW are interested in talking to you during this time of crisis, especially since you seem unsure yourself of what role you will play. Maybe I'm wrong. :)
