20 year old male, just about 5,10, 11 stone with decent fitness.Came back from Lanzarote on Saturday and realised while there that I am much too lean.
I mean i'm not really that bad, but I want to know how to add inches to a few areas.

I have membership to a gym through work, but dont have a clue what I should be doing there, I play football every sunday and have light training on fridays, so I would like to do the training on week days.I have been hearing different things from different people, some are saying I should work a range of muscles in one session, like abs, legs, triceps, chest, back muscles etc, but then others are saying to only work one or two muscles groups per session.

I done boxing for a few years in my pre/early teens, would it be a good idea to do bag work along with weights?

I would really appreciate if someone could make me some kind of plan for what I should be doing monday to friday and what to eat/buy etc?

    Thanks

To gain muscle mass you will need to combine some form of resistance training (e.g lifting weights) with the correct diet (in your case you will need to eat more food, especiially protein rich food).

I'm not going to make you a specific plan because:

    1) I don't know your schedule.
    2) I don't know what exact equiptment you have access to.
    3) I don't know what exercises you want to do.

I would however suggest a few things:

    1) Read all the stickies - they're a goldmine of information.
    2) Read more threads on this board - lots of additional information to help you design your own routine here too.
    3) Compound exercises are great for muscle gain. Learn how to squat, deadlift, bench press and military press. Have an experienced and knowledgable trainer/instructor/coach look at your form to make sure it is correct. Incorporate these exercises into your routine.

Don't worry about split routines vs full body routines at this stage. It is conceivable that you will progress with either style because you are a beginner. Just make sure that what ever routine you do includes exercises that work all your body's major muscle groups.
