Unfortunately I will be cancelling this weekends coming festival in Blinkers Casino as I resigned from my position due to other work commitments.

I will be ringing the players who have won tickets for Saturdays game tomorrow with details of my next €10,000 Guaranteed game which I hope to run within the next 6 weeks.

I wish all the lads in City West the best!

Hi everybody, this is our first post on these boards so bear with us, If we break any forum rules, we apologise...

Unfortunately due to JPs work commitments he is unable to run the mini festival at Blinkers Casino in City west this weekend.
To save any dissapointment to our players Blinkers are happy to announce that the Scheduled tournaments will still go ahead as planned but unfortunately due to the short notice we will be unable to guarantee the prize pools. With a little bit of support and luck we should reach the original guarantees anyhow.

We would like to take this opportunity to Thank JP for all his help in setting up our superb cardroom and he will be sorely missed. We found him a pleasure to work with.

    Sincerely,
    Declan and Dara.

    FRIDAY:- 8.30pm €60 buy in + One €50 Rebuy or Top-up
    SATURDAY:- 2.00pm €250 Freeze-out - Main Event
    SUNDAY:- 4.00pm €120 Freeze-out

Registration opens half an hour before the tournament starts.
I believe JP has already posted the tournament structures in a previous thread.

you posted in the other thread at 6pm yesterday and everything was ok. now all of a sudden you have other work commitments

you say the festival is cancelled and somebody else from blinkers registers a new account and says its not cancelled.

how about the truth about what really happened ?

Very sorry to hear you're no longer involved JP. I think Blinkers was on the cusp of big success thanks to your efforts and as someone else said, where you go the players will follow.

I agree with Dara and if this is over ownership greed, as suggested above, then they have been very naive and very short sighted.

I feel this place was about to really take off especially after the massive exposure Vera's tourney on Wed night would have brought.

I hope things continue on 'as is' but I have my doubts.

    :D

The truth... You cant handle the truth.

I heard exactly what happened, im not going to post details about it.... All i have to say on the matter is I for one will never play in Blinkers agaiin!

At least i left with a win.

    B) what is the rake for your cash games

    C) Was this the case on Wednesday? Simple question so should be a simple answer. I'll take a non response as NO to question C

    JP,

Sorry to hear this didn't work out. Was looking forward to playing the ME this weekend but won’t bother now. If the rumours about Blinkers are only half true then they’ve been very short sighted and may be doomed on the poker
    front.
It’s a small community and people are loyal to guys like JP who go out of their way to put on well run, well structured, good value tournaments (and cash games).

Best of luck in the future, and looking forward to the rescheduled 250 Game.

    Hi JP,

Keep up the good work... Will support you where ever you go next....

Blinkers if what I've heard from a reliable source is true .... SHAME ON YOU.... 1 less customer here... but you do have an opportunity to come on here and correct the situation if it's wrong..??

Fair play to you JP your a man of principles!

THATS A TERRIBLE PITY JP, I WENT TO A FEW TOURNEYS OUT THERE WHILE YOU RAN THEM AND (AS EXPECTED) THEY WERE ALL RUN TO YOUR USUAL HIGH STANDARDS

THE EVENT ON WEDNESDAY (VERA'S PARTY) HAD A BIT OF CONFUSION DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT WAS PROBABLY NEVER ENVISAGED THAT SO MANY PEOPLE WOULD TURN UP, OTHER THAN A LATE START IT SEEMED TO RUN QUITE WELL AND I HAD A GREAT TIME AND THE CONFUSION OVER THE START WAS ONLY TO BE EXPECTED WITH SUCH A LARGE CROWD OF WELL WISHERS FOR VERA

I AM PERSONALLY NOT INTERESTED IN THE RUMOUR MACHINE POSTED HERE, PEOPLE CAN WRITE ANYTHING THEY LIKE ON BOARDS (MORE OR LESS), AND USUALLY ANONYMOUSLY, WHICH HARDLY COUNTS AS FACT

I WISH YOU WELL IN YOUR NEXT MOVE, WHEREVER IT TAKES YOU

you are like the pied piper, the players will follow you

First of all Good Luck JP with with whatever new venture you choose ,,
Now as for Wednesday i have to say i had a great night and was thanks to all the staff at blinkers,, as for foul play with the prize pool i think this is just poison from peoples mouth for some unknown reason,,, The casino floor had all tables 3 people deep for the night, so to think a grand or monkey was taking from the prize pool is just idiotic, the gaming floor would of netted possibly 20 times that in revenue, the people involved with blinkers are astute businessmen that have more cop on to realise that there name in this business is worth more than what is RUMORED to have went on,, and from the breakdown of the prize pool it is defiantly rumor,,
So can people stop looking to find the worst in every new casino and try find the best and give us poker players the maximum number of options we deserve,,
and for cash games, i playe for over an hour in cash and the max i seen raked from a pot was a fiver and the pot was 450, and that is something i watch closely in anygame i play,
    Mick

don't listen to the bullshine about stealing from the pot in Blinkers...a mis understanding about dealers wages is all that happend..i played in many of jp's tourney's and i think he's mad to leave a casino...i'd rather play there than the back of Moloy's pub

well mick, they just have to reply to my questions and for me the rumours can be quashed, everyone has an opinion on it, but smoke ,fire etc. I've asked 3 simple questions. Blinkers is handy for me so I hope they reply otherwise i've to assume the worst. Is this not natural ? JP himself has accused nobody so it's not about him, it's the rumours I'd like a response to., it would not be 'astute' of me to play there if either rumour were true. ...once appeased I'll play anywhere.
