Question about protein value?

    This was inspired by another thread i was after reading.

    I too was under the impression that every little helps with regards to protein intake throughout the day.Is it true then that the body can only absorb so much and after that its a waste?I understand to gain muscle mass you have to go over what your body needs.Can someone please enlighten me?
