What do you mean by 'working out'? Ordinary runners won't suit a lot of weight training.

I hope working out doesn't include farming?

Only another 1 year, 2 months, 14 days, and 16 hours before you get tired and go home?

I was actually looking for a good pair of runners that I could do my leg workouts with, like squats etc which could be good for skipping (jumping rope) when I'm doing circuits on cardio days. There's a place in ashtown I have been told to check out, may go on my lunch.

I'm 40 and had a meniscus trimmed 6 weeks ago, so I'll be looking to start back weight training, have been doing the physio relentlessly from the day I had it done, feels ok but
I have a feeling my popletius on the medial side needs work!! dont ask how I think or know that! straying miles from the point, I need a good pair too that are versatile with good cushioning. Not too educated on this sort of thing which is why I thought Id check out your thread OP, seems we both have the same question, albeit for different reasons!

Oh dont mind paying either, all things are relative. I hate these people that say WHAA??? a hundurd an ayty for bleedin runners??? while doing lines of coke!

Go for an assessment with a decent physio and ask for advice on foot ware and have them look at your squat and gait. Skipping is very heavy on the knees and you have previous knee history so start as you mean to go on!

Thanks for the advice. I have been skipping for about 15 years and doing sprints, squats (good form) etc. My form is good on the rope, I've boxed for years so can do it in my sleep for a long time. The knee issue came when we changed clubs. The old one had a wooden floor and the new one a cement!! someone broke in and damaged the old club.
anyway after a heavy plyometric session, the medial knee became stiff etc etc etc.

I've never had an injury but took this one as age creeping up, long time 25 years without a months break even. anyway I'm doing 4 mile a week in the pool in a 2.5hrs so on the up side have become good at this once more. I swam for my school as a teenager.

dunno what this has to do with the footwear but, I'll check this out when I go for my next post op physio regime! people in here are so helpful, thanks
