    tomorrow monday.

you might be able to get them on the online tmes from maybe 1.30am tomorrow morning, but be warned there was an error in the times points last year so don't be sure you have your course till you get the official nod from CAO at 6am

Had a little panic there for half a second thinking I the offers were out today, because as soon as I find out what I get i've to go on a major hunt for accomodation and no time can be wasted.

I know there's the "what'd you accept thread" but I thought it'd be cool to have a convenient public poll to see where all the boardsies are going and if we'll run into each other in lectures! :pac:

Cast yer votes when the offers are out!

What time does the Irish Times usually publish the newspaper at online? On the 8 aug the Irish independent had a piece giving a rough idea of demand for courses this year, for example it said demand for law was 'down slightly' on last year.

^Thread about the Irish Times article about the first round last year. The thread was started at 2:10am so I guess it was published not long before.

Reading the thread, they didn't seem to publish the entire points list.

    Just some intesting excerpts.

"Medicine and teaching are two of the few areas bucking the trend. A minimum of 570 points - almost the "perfect" Leaving Cert - is needed for any undergraduate course in medicine. The popularity of teaching also continues to surge, with 470 points required for St Patrick's training college in Dublin and 475 for Mary Immaculate, Limerick."

"However, it is the dramatic points fall in courses linked to building which is the striking feature this year. All five architecture courses are down, with University of Limerick down 20 points to 490. Civil engineering is also down across the board - at NUI Galway by 30 points to 425. At Dublin Institute of Technology, quantity surveying is down 40 points to 400. Construction Management is down by 35 points in both the DIT and Galway-Mayo IT, to 360 and 330 respectively."

"Commerce at NUI Galway has dropped substantially from 390 to 365 while DCU business is down 10 points to 425. Law is down 10 points at Trinity to 535 and at UCD to 500."

Law is down to 535!:D I hope that's not a mistake!

Points known so far for ease of reading:

Medicine in all Universities is a minimum of 570.

    Primary teaching: Pats = 470, Mary Immaculate = 475

    Architecture: Limerick = 490

    Civil Engineering: NUIG: 425

    Construction Management: DIT = 360; Galway-Mayo IT=330

    Engineering (omnibus): UCD = 475; DIT = 390; NUIG = 400; DCU = 340

Physiotherapy: UCD & RCSI = -15 points on last year; Trinity = -10 points on last year.

    Nursing: DCU = 365

    Arts: UCD = 350

    Science: UCD = 300; Trinity 415; Maynooth = 320

    Commerce: NUIG = 365

    Business: DCU = 425

    Law: Trinity = 535; UCD = 500

    Computer Science: UCD = 335; DIT = 230
I'm surprised Arts in UCD went up.

When I did my Leaving 4 years ago there was no excitement about it because I was pretty much guaranteed my course. This year a friend of mine is waiting on his course and I'm so bloody nervous for him! It's as if I'm waiting for my own offer!

    Best of luck to all!

Edit: In one article it says Mary I is 470 and in another it says 475 so don't take it all as gospel.
