do calisthenics help recovery after strength training?

    would medium to high rep calisthenics(push ups, chins, sit ups etc) the day after strength training(3-5reps) interfere with or help recovery

    Depends on your work capacity.

    You probably don't really need to try and improve your recovery thru doing caliisthenics. It would improve much more (and have a better carryover to strength training) if you were to just build your work capacity, eat more post workout (the 6-8 hours after like) and sleep an extra hour a night.

    It would also depend on your current strength and what your idea of "medium" reps is. e.g. I could do 4 times as many pushups as chinups.
