Where to stay in Westport?

I'm headin to Westport on the weekend of 6th September (Saturday). There's 2 of us and we're gonna need somewhere to stay that night.

We're students so on a bit of a budget but want a twin room with a shower etc...

Can anyone recommend anywhere? Not all that pushy as all we'll be doing is laying the head down but don't want to stay in a dump

Hotel ideally.

I think the Old Mill hostel would suffice. Does anyone know is it dorm's ONLY or are there twin bed rooms?

I stayed here the last time I was in Westport and found it fabulous.

I believe it is owned by the Castlecourt and is a nice lodge with all the facilities of a hotel. Rates are €90 per room including breakfast but if you book here it is €80 per room including breakfast. If you look around you may find cheaper again.

Thanks for the links! Unfortunately it's coming up as 120euro for 2 of us. Sorry prob forgot to mention there's 2 of us. Might just stay in the hostel and go on the p1ss

Looking at that link(hotel westport) which is always generally well priced, it's coming up as €95 per night

Castlecourt Hotel might do you a good price as they are very central and own half the town. Westport Woods is also a good choic, but there are plenty of good B & B's also.

don't go there.

bad food, and general bad experiences mean it's not very good value for money as some might suggest...

On what basis do you make that statement. A couple of trips or local knowledge?

My son's communion was there and it was good value and great food. And I am fussy. I have had many lunches there and been to many functions. [I've never seen the bedrooms though.]

We are also talking two students on a budget here.

I think B&B is best bet.
