Hey, am curious to know how much interst there is in buying a Specialized Tarmac Expert Frame. Maybe some of you guys have seen mine, but normally I don't train on it, thats best left to my hacker.

I am looking to sell the 58cm Frame, Forks, Stem, Seatpost + Saddle. all together and all of which came standard with the bike.
However i will not be parting with the crankset or groupset... but should the price be right i would include the Mavic Ksyrium Equipe Wheelset.

I've had the bike since November 2007, it has seen no use over winter it and has seen only some action in sunday open races. I can say it is an extraordinarily responsive, stiff and lightweight bike and would be ideal for anybody pursuing competition.

For the moment this photo must do, but i will post actual photographs soon.
I have no idea how much i could get for this, (originally bought for 3000eur), maybe you guys could throw some offers out there. thanks

would you sell the saddle on its own as im looking for a toupe for my 2nd bike. (too lazy to keep swaping over)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,085 ✭✭✭ba

    eh, no.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,085 ✭✭✭ba

so... i am looking to get 1750eur for:
Frame + Forks - Specialized Tarmac Expert 58cm, carbon frame
    Carbon Seatpost - Specialized (original)
Saddle - Specialized Toupe Saddle, 143mm, white
    Stem + Handlebar
Wheelset - Mavic Ksyrium Equipe + Continental Attack + Force Tyres

like i've said, the bike is in excellent condition, i work as a mechanic so when i say it is in excellent condition, it is.
there's no problem should anybody wish to take it for a spin.

i'd prefer to get rid of the bike quickly so i am willing to negotiate the price, but nothing ridiculous.

any questions? fire off a PM and i'll get back to you.

That is a very nice bike, I reckon I should hold out for a 60cm frame though (I'm 6'4")

Best of luck with the sale

Ba, I'm on the lookout for a new bike. I've got a Lapierre at the moment which I intend to demote to my 'winter' bike. It's 55 cm center to top, with a 56.5 cm center to center top tube. I'm 5' 11&3/4''....what do you think. Yours is 58cm is that center to center or centre to top. If it fits I'd definitely be interested.

Ba, just lloking for some more info on your bike. Brakes - Dura Ace or Ultegra? Chainset - what make - 39/53? - 10 speed I assume - Dura Ace Cassette?

Will be in Dublin on Friday afternoon/evening might take it for a spin, if it suits.

correct, but the wheels are included. slightly confusing i know, changed my mind few nights ago.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,085 ✭✭✭ba

to help move this along i will sell the complete bike as shown in the picture above. yes, this includes the groupset + FSA Carbon K-Force Crankset 53-39. the cassette is a 12-27 btw. all for 2000eur.

i figure i will sell the whole thing and start again. tis much simpler this way.
..but i will keep my pedals and bottlecages, polar sensors.

    is anybody interested?

i've put the bike on adverts.ie and in the buy&sell, would anybody recommend selling it through Cyclesuperstore?

Superstore charge a €25 setting up fee, but charge 25% of the selling price which is a bit too much imo

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,318 ✭✭✭✭Raam

    Any joy on ebay?

any luck in the buy and sell?? Its a nice bike shouldn'y really be a problem to sell. Maybe its the wrong time of year some people may be hanging up their bikes for the winter

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,505 ✭✭✭✭DirkVoodoo

Wow, that is a cracking bike! If it were a bit smaller and I had a bit of money I would be very tempted! I'd agree with eagle that maybe this is a tough time of year to sell, but its a pretty good deal.

I'm also curious as to how you clean it, I don't think I've even seen new bikes that clean :)

I too am curious. I just spent 2 evenings cleaning mine and I doubt it's that clean.

You guys are amateurs. Gotta strip everything off the bike, disassemble everything as much as is possible and clean em all individually.

Anyway, there is obvious dirt on the frame. Manky it is.

that filth must be on the camera lens, :D. but i would ritually clean my bike after every time i used it. which made it easy to keep clean i guess. if i get time tongith i'll throw it onto ebay.

i'd really love to just sell the frame tho.

Thanks just had a look at the web site.If they have the frame in my size It's happy days

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,032 ✭✭✭FrankGrimes

This looks like a great deal alright but from a quick look at the McConvey website it seems it's likely to be this bike that dalkener got for £1200. That's still an excellent deal no doubt about it, but it has mostly 105 components whereas the OP's bike has Ultegra and DuraAce, just calling it out so that people don't read it as an exact like for like comparison. Lovely looking bikes.

This is the exact bike that I want. Size and everything, but I live in the states and the price is a bit high compared to what I have seen bikes go for on ebay. This could be since you are in europe. I found this thread because I am always looking for this bike. If you are willing to ship outside of europe and would take a lower price. Let me know.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,085 ✭✭✭ba

have you seen this particular bike go for lower on ebay? i tried to sell this bike for a while... but as time passed and there wewre no takers, i decided to hold onto it. have already upgraded the wheelset, so hate to dissapoint kensek but its no longer for sale.
